Hike to Kalsubai in the Sayahidris

Countryside curated this walk for us on 30/10/22.. the timing being perfect as the rains finally seemed to have settled and the terrain was therefore comfortable to walk on. Their insistence on an early morning start and sticking to the schedule with extremely competent guides who were well kitted for medical issues was reassuring.
The walk itself was beautiful through hill trails and fields with ample opportunities en route to top up on hydration and chai.
Took in a stunning dawn and sunrise and made it down before the heat of the day started beating down.
The views from the top were glorious and the wind was pleasant and cool.
We were given a sumptuous tiffin box with healthy goodies… fruit.. thepla.. cheese sandwiches.. juice and more.
Thanks once again for organising this walk and a great introduction to this space.

Best place to visit is in monsoon ,with mist all around n surrounded with lush greenery. We had travelled by car and it takes around an hour to reach from malshej ghat , roads are good . Was less crowded on weekdays and with rains it had zero visibility that day. People trek to this place which I ve heard is worth doing. Come prepared with food and eatables as there are almost no option other than two kiosks selling wada pav n tea.
Worth visiting with family n kids

Large expanse of land with beautiful views. If visiting in cooler months in mornings and evenings, and healthy, please consider taking an hour or 90 minutes walk. We went around 10 am in May and though the sun was onto us the breeze was cool almost towards the end till 11:30 am. We took the horse ride. We had a local guide for the day long trip but he got us on the horses and the horse guide took over. They don't tell you the charges at the start.. Neither did I insist to know there, I went with the flow. When we reached from the parking area to the start of table land we were given an idea of what would he shown, a long trip entailing almost all stops costing approx 3k and a shorter one around 30 minutes costing 1.6k. I later checked tripnadvisor and found warnings all over about these fake charges. I hope others check before going and avoid getting duped. Bargain hard to something around 1000 rs for the complete ride. Ask if they will stop and accompany as per your wish and where you would be dropped back. Get ther terms absolutely cleared
We were told that The horse guide would be there with us throughout and get us down and show both caves on the way. The horse guides are probably needed to point out the Sydney point, harrisons folly etc that can be seen from the table. Rest talk is all dedicated to which movie was shot where which we were least bothered about. They dropped us off at the shiva cave and asked us to go ourselves and to walk back to the parking area.
The horses are well trained and the ride is long and good. The place is beautiful on May. I can only imagine how heavenly it would be post monsoons. The tiger cave and shiva temple cave are okay. If you chose to walk you can take a break and eat at the dine ins there..

Just visited this heaven of place near palghar- (suryamal)
I visited this place after travel restrictions got pulled up.
went with my traveler fellows on a bike ride.. really enjoyed the view on ride
place is full of greenery and adventurous
it took me 2 hours to reach to the destation almost 100km away from my place..but it was worth it
enjoyed every bit of it because of rain
it shows the best view of the place once you reach at the top of the Suryamal sunset point ..those smokie clouds comprise when rain comes and goes when rain goes..it was a memorable experience ... will visit again next year.

Darya Ghat is a must visit place in Monsoons. It is located around 125 kms from Pune and it takes around 3 hours to reach there. You can put the location on Google Maps and you would easily reach the place. You have to park your vehicles where the road ends and a short hike begins from this place. A hike of 30 mins will take you to some magnificent waterfalls and yes there is not one waterfall but a series of waterfalls where you can enjoy. The views are absolutely magnificent and the beauty would just blow your mind.

I would suggest reach in the morning as early as possible so that you won't encounter much of the crowd. As the day starts progressing, the crowd increases at these waterfalls. You can easily choose your spot for enjoying the waterfalls as there are many and as you go higher & higher you would get more secluded spots to enjoy.

It is advisable to go in groups. The hike/trek is easy, waterfalls are safe but remember as it's monsoons it can get slippery at lot of places so please be careful.

The spot you have parked your vehicle, you would find a small shop which serves Vada Pav, Kanda Bhaji and Tea. On the back side, there is a house, you can change clothes, they charge Rs 10 per person for the same.

This spot is famous among local people and around but now it is also gaining popularity among people from Pune & Mumbai.
