Lovely white sand beach I've seen so far in Kerala. One can spend hours on the beach on swimming, water sports or just sitting quietly looking at the waves. Enjoy the view from the cliff and the food available there. Not very crowdy and you'll find many non Indians enjoying this place. Good place and you can plan for a day here.

The best cliff beach in the entire world. The sun rise view and Sunset view is the best. Access to the beach is adventurous. Everyone will like it.

Safe place to spend a quality 'alone' time, relaxing. Not very crowded. Enjoy the view from the nearby eateries. More or less clean beach though rituals are performed. Coast guards are there to keep watch on you. Second trip to the sea beach. There are shops which sell garments. Price is bit on higher side, most probably due to the foreign tourists. Auto stand is nearby.

We were incredibly fortunate to take a private meditation class with Ullas in Varkala. One aspect that stood out to us about the class was his emphasis on the spiritual philosophy of meditation. This focus allowed us to explore meditation from a fresh perspective, expanding our understanding and appreciation of the practice.

Ullas's style was engaging, and he accompanied his teachings with a warm smile and wise storytelling. He would pose questions like "who are you?" to prompt introspection and encourage us to contemplate the essence of meditation on a much deeper level. He also shared thought-provoking perspectives on concepts such as the distinction between identity and self, impermanence and eternal, and perception and truth.

Taking this class was an enlightening experience that helped us grasp the "why" behind meditation, rather than just focusing on the "how." Even after our trip ended, the profound insights from Ullas continued to resonate with us and left a lasting impression.

Had the best time on the vegetarian thali cookery lesson. The two ladies who did the lesson were so friendly and smiley.
They broke down the dishes into very easy steps and it actually feels like I could be able to do these at home!
Go hungry as you make so much delicious food!
