As the clock neared to its top, one could sense a frenzy in their application as if in anticipation of the complicated work they still needed to accomplish ahead. For in Kathakali (one of the most complicated of all Indian dance forms), the artists do not speak but use rather detailed postures or mudras to communicate their intentions, obviously to the accompaniment of music and song. These aspects were briefly, albeit brilliantly, described by a master of ceremonies who proved to be highly versatile. This done, the main event proceeded. I had read the playbill when I had entered and based on that did not think highly of the story which had a bit of goriness for my taste, but the ability of the three artists with the drummers and the master of ceremonies singing in the background skillfully drew me into their artistic world and led to a most satisfying climax.
We stayed back for the next event which was Kalaripayyatu (Kerala martial arts) which was energetically performed by well bodied young men. This place has historical significance, it was once home to Jewish community. The landmark synagogue is must visit. View of sun set and a walk in sea shore by enjoying the cool Breeze from the sea will be a good experience to you . The people behave respectfully and you can enjoy the visit. Its heritage architecture is a key draw, reflecting a mix of Indo-European designs. The church is close to the renowned St. Francis Church, making it a convenient stop for tourists exploring Cochin. The interior is adorned with beautiful stained glass windows that depict scenes from the scriptures, while the high vaulted ceilings and detailed pulpit and altar showcase the craftsmanship of a bygone era. The basilica's structure has an interesting story. It reflects the colonial influence of Portugal and the Netherlands, with contributions from the British and King Raja of Kochi, who supported the building and renovation efforts. The church has visitor timing restrictions and is closed in the afternoon from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., but is open until around 5 p.m. The main church is closed during prayer times, especially on Sundays. There's ample parking, and entry is free.

There is a paved walk way parallel to the river. There is not much rush when I visited this place mainly due to Covid situation. Ample parking space is there. There is also a restaurant near the entrance. Speed boat facility is available.You can find many scenic spots along the way. A children's park is also there. There is a also a watch tower from where we can see a scenic view of the entire locality.

We heard an interesting fact that Vasco da gama's body was kept here after his death in 1524. What struck us most was the tranquil atmosphere, despite being a popular tourist spot. We took a leisurely walk along the shore, felt the gentle breeze, and soaked in the history of the place.
If you're looking for a relaxing beach experience with a dash of history and culture, Fort Kochi Beach is a must-visit.
