What struck us most was the tranquil atmosphere, despite being a popular tourist spot. We took a leisurely walk along the shore, felt the gentle breeze, and soaked in the history of the place.

If you're looking for a relaxing beach experience with a dash of history and culture, Fort Kochi Beach is a must-visit. Don't miss the sunset and the local food!"

Puthuvype Beach offers a serene escape from urban chaos, nestled in a tranquil location ideal for unwinding. Parking facilities and nearby snack shops enhance the visitor experience. Evenings are particularly enchanting, perfect for capturing memorable moments. However, the presence of shore waste and seaweed affects cleanliness and swimming opportunities. Limited amenities like snack huts and the absence of restrooms and changing rooms are notable drawbacks. The beach gets crowded during peak hours, diminishing its peaceful ambience. Yet, the sight of the majestic Puthuvype Lighthouse against the vast Arabian Sea backdrop is captivating. It's conveniently located near the beach, offering visitors the chance to ascend and enjoy panoramic views.

The lighthouse is open daily from 10 AM to 1 PM and 2 PM to 6 PM, except on Mondays. The entry fee for Puthuvype Lighthouse is INR 10 for children, adults, senior citizens, and foreign citizens, with an additional INR 10 for photography.

No entry ticket is required to enter the beach, making it accessible to all. The beach remains relatively uncommercialized and less crowded, suitable for family outings. Its flat terrain minimizes risks, however, the lack of lifeguards is a concern. and it's easily accessible via well-paved roads, just 10 km from Marine Drive.

Bhoothathankettu is a dam in Ernakulam district , about 10 km away from the town of Kothamangalam and 50 km away from the main city of Kochi. There is a paved walk way parallel to the river. There is not much rush when I visited this place mainly due to Covid situation. Ample parking space is there. There is also a restaurant near the entrance. Speed boat facility is available. You can find many scenic spots along the way. A children's park is also there. There is a also a watch tower from where we can see a scenic view of the entire locality.
The dam is located nearby to the legendary Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary at Thattekkad.

The boat ride from marine drive to bolgatty was a nice experience. Now it's mostly resort /private property so public access restricted.

Kids will love this park..Lot of activities to keep them engaged here...adults will enjoy the pedal boats facility which is reasonably priced. The park has snacks shop inside. Plenty of parking space available.

It's nice place to visit with friends and families! Well built pathways for a leisurely stroll , views are great from everywhere. You can see many automated fishing nets.

Yes!!!We spotted dolphins at this place.
We visited this beach as puzhuvype beach was crowded at around 6p.m in the first week of June. It was drizzling so we sat down to relax. Suddenly we could spot dolphins at the surface very close to the beach.
When asked locals, we got to know that dolphins are often seen here when it rains.
It was a wonderful experience. :D
