What struck us most was the tranquil atmosphere, despite being a popular tourist spot. We took a leisurely walk along the shore, felt the gentle breeze, and soaked in the history of the place.

- Big Indian ToursAsia617 contributionsPuthuvype Beach offers a serene escape from urban chaos, nestled in a tranquil location ideal for unwinding. Parking facilities and nearby snack shops enhance the visitor experience. Evenings are particularly enchanting, perfect for capturing memorable moments. However, the presence of shore waste and seaweed affects cleanliness and swimming opportunities. Limited amenities like snack huts and the absence of restrooms and changing rooms are notable drawbacks. The beach gets crowded during peak hours, diminishing its peaceful ambience. Yet, the sight of the majestic Puthuvype Lighthouse against the vast Arabian Sea backdrop is captivating. It's conveniently located near the beach, offering visitors the chance to ascend and enjoy panoramic views.
The lighthouse is open daily from 10 AM to 1 PM and 2 PM to 6 PM, except on Mondays. The entry fee for Puthuvype Lighthouse is INR 10 for children, adults, senior citizens, and foreign citizens, with an additional INR 10 for photography.
No entry ticket is required to enter the beach, making it accessible to all. The beach remains relatively uncommercialized and less crowded, suitable for family outings. Its flat terrain minimizes risks, however, the lack of lifeguards is a concern. and it's easily accessible via well-paved roads, just 10 km from Marine Drive.Written 20 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There is a paved walk way parallel to the river. There is not much rush when I visited this place mainly due to Covid situation. Ample parking space is there. There is also a restaurant near the entrance. Speed boat facility is available. You can find many scenic spots along the way. A children's park is also there. There is a also a watch tower from where we can see a scenic view of the entire locality.

- vibhuti7 contributionsYes!!!We spotted dolphins at this place.
We visited this beach as puzhuvype beach was crowded at around 6p.m in the first week of June. It was drizzling so we sat down to relax. Suddenly we could spot dolphins at the surface very close to the beach.
When asked locals, we got to know that dolphins are often seen here when it rains.
It was a wonderful experience. :DWritten 7 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
