The boat ride was several hours long and we saw so many birds and just beautiful scenery. You should bring your own water and wear sunscreen/bug repellent. We are so happy that we spent the majority of our time in India in Kerala. I have fallen in love with it via this tour. Delhi and the surrounding cities were lackluster. We didn't find much joy in the Taj Mahal after we visited Kerala, because we knew India had so much better to offer.
The five days of this tour were astounding. View after view after view. The scenery was everything! Nimisha, the business owner who organises the tour for you is really friendly and made the whole experience seamless. She checked in with us regularly before and during our tour. She also helped us to organise other travels outside of the tour (we needed an extra night at a hotel because we landed late at night and Nimisha facilitated the whole thing).
Our driver, Mr Rajesh was a very kind man and facilitated a relaxing atmosphere throughout the trip. If we wanted to go shopping, or try certain foods he was able to find great places. If we wanted to stop the car to take in the scenes, we were able to. At first, he was very quiet but after we requested more commentary, he really engaged us with his wealth of knowledge. So don't be afraid to speak up if you want more or less commentary. Also, the fact that we had a local driver, protected us from a lot of harassment from vendors and he was able to do the talking if we needed help.
A lot of the day is spent driving because the state of Kerala is huge and you really cover a lot of distance, but the days are balanced with the afternoons packed with activities or rest and relaxation (your choice). The scenery along the whole trip is breathtaking- especially when you leave Munnar to travel to Thekkady.
The houseboat experience was phenomenal. One of the best travel experiences of my life. The scenery and having a whole boat to yourselves were incredible.
Overall, we had a great time. We are very well seasoned travelers and this gets our recommendation. - Andreas P2 contributionsSuch a great experience, very well organized. We were collected directly at the port. A small shuttle bus drove us to the station where we switched to the Tuc-Tuc. Our driver, Jedo, was a really nice young guy who showed us all the interesting places in Cochin. This included also one shop and the spice market (which was most likely also a shop). That was ok, as we wanted to look for some traditional clothes. - yogesh c1 contributionExcellent arrangements were made by Mr Peter and his team for the day tour of Alleppey back waters in private Premium Boat for 6 pax. We were picked up in an AC traveller van from our hotel to travel to Alleppey from Fort Kochi.
House boat was great (neat, clean and well furnished with A/C) as promised. It had two nice viewing platforms at roof to enjoy panoramic views of lake and the backwaters.
Lunch was sumptuous with delicious Vegetarian and Non-Veg Kerala food selections. Vegetarians were well taken care of.
All boat staff, especially Mr Johney, were courteous and displayed high service quality. We had an enjoyable and memorable trip.
Mr Peter was very flexible and accommodating in adjusting to some of the last minutes changes that we had to make to our travel arrangements.
Overall I will highly recommend Carnival Tours Kochi as a tour and travel partner in Kochi and around. - Soum B1 contributionFabulous and most affordable tour package, Mr Stanley in his office welcomed us with such a positive vibe and explained every tour possible in kochi and nearby, we booked two tour with them, the one backwater village tour, it was amazing, the tour guide was so kind in showing every beautiful place and then we had a Keralian style vegetarian banana leaf thali which was included on the backwater tour. Next day we did sight seeing with Mr Shahjahan, the driver and guide who showed us every possible beautiful places for the whole day. Mr Shahjahan was very cooperative and kind natured, it was very comfortable to ride with him. Totally recommended this tour for everyone. We enjoyed entirely and I think this was the one of the greatest tour we had ever in India. We were scheduled for three hours and he kept showing me more such that our tour took almost 4 (I had a lot of questions and he took me where I wanted.) - talesofonetraveller2 contributionsI started my tour with low expectations, but I found the best hospitality and service attitudes in India, in particular with this tour company which is extremely responsive and my driver Mithun. Mithun goes above and beyond for guests, and was very accommodating to my requests for photo stops and even places outside of those stated in the itinerary. It felt like he genuinely cared for the welfare and satisfaction of tourists, such as ensuring they do not overpay local vendors. He also encouraged me to do zipline which was not in my itinerary, when he could have just skipped places and be totally laidback about my experience. He is knowledgeable about the history and background of Munnar tea plantations too.
I believe that the perfect and hundreds of ratings for this tour company speaks for itself. Its pricing is also the best. A private tour cost the same or even lower than a group tour offered elsewhere. - Gregg R1 contributionWe booked the tour from our cruise ship which did not plan an expedition to the Taj. We were excited to find a tour that could take us to the Taj Mahal from our ship and return us the next port to rejoin our ship after our tour.
We flew from Cochin to Delhi where we were picked up from our driver, Bittu, who took care of us for the next two days. We stayed in Agra at the beautiful Jaypee 5 star resort in Agra near the Taj. Our guide Maheesh met us there the next morning and took us on tours of the Taj, the Castle and Fort as well as the "Baby" Taj Mahal.
Maheesh was incredibly knowledgeable of the history of all the sites we visited and the culture of the area. We also did some local tours and shopping while in Agra. The final day, we were driven back to Delhi for our flight to rejoin the ship. I cannot begin to tell you how easy it all was. All of our needs were anticipated and our itinerary was well planned and seamlessly executed.
