The included lunch is also delicious.
Elephants do as they are please so there is a chance you don’t get to see any.
We were lucky and got to see one at the very start of the trip. We then waited a couple of hours at the elephant village view point but none came, it’s the name of the game.
Ganesh, our guide was very patient and passionate about telling us all about the area and it’s stories.

He was so courteous, helpful, and found great restaurants along the way. Stopped at nice and hygienic places when we needed to take a break. He was very friendly and easy to communicate with. He answered many questions and offered us nice insights about the areas we were in or where we were going. He gave us good suggestions for shopping.
Sanguine Holidays had put together a great tour package that covered so many beautiful and fascinating places. Once we made the payment, it was hassle free. Everything was taken care of.
The hotels were very, very good. Almost heaven. The rooms were so immaculate and comfortable. The buffets had many options with a lot of local food selections. There were events like dancing, cooking demonstrations, and options to play games in the game rooms. We had a private pool for our cottage at Thekkady that had a view one can only imagine. Both Munnar and Thekady Blanket Hotels have views as scenic and breathtaking as I’ve ever experienced.
The houseboat was such a dreamy experience. it was clean and well kept. The food could not be better. Seriously. There were 2 people on the houseboat. The Captain, Mr. Lijjo, was very friendly and we got to drive the boat a little bit. The chef, Mr. Anoop, prepared delicious food. When we stopped for the evening, he called a rickshaw driver for us, and helped with the sightseeing when we stopped for the evening. The overnight stay in the houseboat was safe and comfortable. The room was quaint and had well furnished. It had a houseboat feel, but not “just a boat”. It was a joy.
We absolutely recommend this tour offered by Sanguine Holidays. It is absolutely worth it.

Firstly we visited the tea plantations then few waterfalls , Our tour guide nagu was an exceptional host for the rest of the trip at high level, our highlight was definitely his homemade food and snacks provided . - Nekuri4 contributionsThe whole staff starting from the pick up and drop off from and back to hotel was an amazing experience. The driver was very friendly and patient. The staff on the boat including the chef were excellent! The food was great! They have maintained an excellent time schedule.

We took the tuk-tuk ride, which is an experience by itself.
Cochim is an interisting city specially for its european rota and mix with indian culture.
We net to churches, spice market, dutch palace and hindu temples.

We sat at the front of the boat and felt like VIPs as we watched the scenery go by while our fantastic crew attended to our every need. The meals on board were excellent. Our bedroom was cool at night. They stopped at Champakulam, a small town on the river,where we could shop for the usual tourist items. But the real attraction of that town was the St Mary's Basilica just beyond the tourist shops. Founded in the 400's, it's gorgeous inside, with painted walls and ceiling. Overall we had a wonderful time and felt like we really got to see Kerala
We had one traumatic thing happen at the end of our trip. After we got off the houseboat, we had to take a water taxi to get to the dock where the cars were parked. Our luggage was on top of the taxi along with the garbage from our trip. At some point, the garbage bag flew off the taxi and into the river. Our driver Mr. Eby was a good person and talked about the basics of each location we visited. Apart from the spice garden, old church and tea factory visit, we saw rubber and tea plantations on our way. We were also able to spot some wild elephants on our way back which was the highlight of our tour. However, a single day journey to Munnar from Kochi and back can be exhausting for elderly due to long driving hours. - Sian WIpswich, UK33 contributionsStanley Wilson tours organised a superb itinerary to Munnar with accommodation, meals and all excursions. Starting from Kochi our driver Ubaid picked us up.
Ubaid is an amazing young man, he is caring, calm, assured and a wonderful driver. He drove safely at all times, he gave us both confidence in the busy traffic you see on Keralan roads. We stopped for a tea and snack at a small roadside cafe which was very nice. On to the waterfall and a comfort break. Ubaid explained interesting facts about sights along our journey, it was lovely talking to him. We paid a visit to a smaller waterfall and then the Spice garden before arriving in Munnar. After checking in we had time to explore the town before dinner. Dinner was plentiful and very tasty, thanks to Pandiyan and Robin,your attention to detail and your care was very much appreciated.
After a goodnights sleep and a great breakfast. Our guide Ramesh, took us on a fantastic tour of the tea gardens, explaining everything you need to know about tea, the plantation and the people employed to work there. The walk through the vast plantation was spectacular, the scenery is breathtaking, apart from tea bushes, we met tea plantation workers, saw amazing wildlife, birds, flowers, goats and a Bull Elephant. We were very lucky to see the Elephant!!
In the afternoon Ubaid took us to visit the Tea factory. For something we drink regularly it was fascinating to see the journey from the tea leaf picked in the plantation to the finished article ready to be shipped to the companies who package & sell us tea at home. After an early dinner we had another great nights sleep in preparation for our early trek to see the sunrise. Ramesh was our guide and what a treat we had. Walking through the countryside in darkness just our torches and the stars to light our way we made it to the summit, there we sat on a rock for the best view of the sunrise. It was amazing, the views were far reaching and spectacular. The descent was just as lovely, walking through the tea garden. We were again lucky to see a very large bison on our journey through the plantation. The team Stanley has for this excursion is top class. We cannot recommend this trip more highly. He was a pleasure to speak to and learn from. Even though it rained on and off, we took breaks when it was too heavy and finished the tour without skipping any of the beautiful sights! Every bend brought more and more beautiful views, and our guide Kumar was amazing. He is so kind and generous, he answered our questions and brought us to the best places! Even on a cloudy evening, it was well worth it.
