The mall is worth a visit while in Kochi. Very near to our hotel, we just walked to the mall. The place is well maintained. Lots of brands and lots of variety. Lots of eating places.

There are many gates. Only one gate has the parking space. There are many shops selling panche and mask all the way to the temple. There is a long queue to reach the sanctum sanatorium. Rs.50 and 500 persons also join this queue towards the end, getting all the curses from others. The God is huge. The temple lamps are huge and made of silver, i heard. No guide was available

We had a very informed guide who explained everything. We visited the tea factory and the gardens. We had a delicious masala tea at the factory and learned about all of the processes. Afterwards, we were about to go to the gift shop for fabulous gifts of tea for friends and family. We watched workers plucking the tea leaves and wandered among the plants. Beautiful experience.

The experience of feeling the alleppey backwaters and going in the house boat was so refreshing. The food served in the boat needs a special mention, the chef had cooked it amazingly. Thankyou for creating this memory🤩

I took an hour boat tour in Neyyar river. Rs.3000 for 1 hour, the boat accommodates 6 persons along with a diesel engine, boatman cum guide. Life vests are there. The boat man listens to our agenda. He takes us through mangrove forests where one can see banyan tree, forest pineapple tree with huge pineapple of 3', forest mango tree, etc apart from coconuts trees lined up. I have enjoyed kingfishers, water crow, ducks of all kinds, snake bird, egrets, etc. The boatman stopped near the birds so that i could click. On the way, there are restaurants that serve hot freshly fried fish and tea. There are boat houses also. At the estuary, there is a rock looking like an elephant, people swimming, salt and freshwater mixing, etc. At the beach there are kites, horse ride and other tourist attractions. There is a statue of Christ that can be approached by road also.

Beautiful place. We can opt for houseboats as well as shikara's. Houseboats are with meals. Shikara's are for 1-4 hours ride. The water route is same. Best part is there are Government boats very neat, which costs 300 rs per person, same route, 3 hour cruise with 1 stop (30 mns break). No driver or hotel will tell you about government boats. Shikara will cost much higher. Nothing else to do in allepey.

A much better place to visit while you're in Calicut. Don't go to Kozhikode beach which is dirty. This beach is famous due to initial landings by Vasco de Gama. But otherwise also the beach was serene and clean. We went to the secluded portion wherein you could enjoy with kids and no unnecessary crowd was there. But however clean the place maybe, we indians have an uncanny knack of making a ckean place a dustbin. And u gotta live with it. Otherwise a good place to be.

The initiative 'Plastic free Nelliyampaty' is what hit me . What hard work done by locals to collect plastics strewn by tourist all around.
The message is very loud and clear. Hats off to the youngsters we saw collecting plastics from roads and other places.

The drive to reach the top is by itself a great experience. Rich flaura and fauna all around the drive.

I visited this place in Aug 22 with my wife and its a good place if you are a wildlife and scenery loving person. The forest is dense without mobile network. If you are planning to stay inside Parambikulam then you have some 4-5 choices to book online. I booked Thunakadavu Tree Top Hut accommodation for 2N/3D along with pug mark trail trekking and below is my experience.
    > The forest department people look for excuse to cancel trekking with excuses like there should be minimum of 10 people, rain, leech all other reasons.
    > Stay at for Thunakadavu Tree Top Hut was a nightmare as there are hundreds of rodents and rats which easily enter your hut. We had some biscuits in one of our bag and the rats despite keeping this bag in a stand, punctured the bag and ate all the biscuits. The rats move all around you making noise and some also climbed our bed at night. Remind you, you are alone in that hut without signal to call for help and also not advised to climb down the staircase due to elephant/wild animal movements during nights. During day, there are lot of monkeys which made sure we cannot enjoy the property sitting outside. The next day, I was successful to change from hut to Tented niche and slept well which i missed previous night.
    > Location of hut is excellent. Honeycomb is midst tribal settlement and Tented niche is near admin office so location wise Hut is very good and isolated.

Tali Sivan temple is divine, enchanting and fantastic experience.

You need to wear a dhoti without shirt to enter the temple (for men and boys)

For ladies, Indian traditional wear is allowed - chudidhar, saree

We visited this temple in the mid morning time and to the surprise there was the daily sriveli prayer happening - when the Lord is taken around the temple amidst drum beats. It was a wonderful experience to follow the priests and the parade

Overall a must visit place when in Kozhikode

Only Hindus are allowed inside the temple.

Great place with good scenic views and beautiful sculpture of Jatayu.
The place is not overcrowded if we reach there by 10 am. Visitors can reach the top either through cable car or by steps (around 816)

Only negative aspect is that they accept only cash payments for entry

This place is known as Mittai Theruvu or SM Street is one of the most popular and historic trade centers in calicut. This is one of the most busiest streets and Shopping spots in Calicut. The area will be crowded always, especially in the evenings. There are many Famous Bakeries Situated in this street. Earlier this street was famous for Kozhikkodan Halwa or Sweet Meat (In English). Now a days, one can buy anything and everything including foot wears, apparels, food items etc.. This is a well known shopping centre for both local and foreign items....
