- the_kaslKochi (Cochin), India1,156 contributionsVery nice and clean beach. We went to Tippu Sultan's Sultan battery watch tower on the banks of Gurupur river. Took a boat to cross the river and walked down for five minutes to the beach.Written 9 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GKMumbai, India107 contributionsEver since my college days in this city, I have always been visiting the temple. This temple provides anna danam all days of the year. Also please do not miss to meet MAHALAKSHMI, the beautiful and elegant majestic elephant of the temple. Whenever feeling low or high, happy or sad, I used to visit the temple to seek Durga Parameshwari amma's blessing.Written 24 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sangeetha AnbalaganBengaluru, India1,816 contributionsOn 31st May, myself with my son & parents got to visit Khadri Manjunatha temple from Sri Ramakrishna Mutt, Mangalore.
Khadri Manjunatha is one of the ancient temple, which belongs to the Vijayanagara style of structure. This temple is located just 4 km, distance from the heart of the Mangalore city.
The temple has various statues of Gokarnatha, Machendranath, Shringinath, Manjushri, Lokeshwara and even Buddha apart from Lord Manjunatha. We need to climb few steps, where we can see 7 rivers & can do Abhishegam for the Shiv Lingam placed there.
Had a blissful evening at the temple !!Written 3 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Even though we visited at the odd time of the year when not as many species of butterflies are spotted as during July - Aug, the host was very welcoming and gave us the best experience with his comprehensive knowledge and passion for butterflies. It was fascinating to know each and every fact. We would definitely come back in the right season to learn more.Written 25 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sachin mDubai, United Arab Emirates48 contributionsA local beach with a local feel, a perfect place to spend the evenings and have some local snacks on the beach front, beach needs improvements in terms of facilities but it's a public free beach, don't expect much out of itWritten 21 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Radhakrishna Mallya49 contributionsOne of the beaches which has rocks on the shore and sea as well! A quiet and less crowded beach is there for enjoyment... evenings are the best time to visit. It can get lonely at dusk and hence best to leave, with respect to safety.Written 10 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NishanthBengaluru, India24 contributionsThis is a full day activity and in case if you visit this place for only half day or few hours then you will be able to see 2 or 3 things only. We had around 3 hours of time hence had to choose 2 activity. We opted for Zoo visit and Arts and Gutthu house visit. Zoo was maintained well, as the animals were looking healthy compared to few other zoo in other cities were animals look malnutritioned. This place is in outskirts of Mangalore but not very far though. Just a drive of 20 minutes will take you there. Need to buy tickets for each activity or can buy one ticket for all the activities. It is better if you purchase a buggy ticket for travelling between attractions otherwise you will have to walk between attractions and might loose your time just for that.Written 27 January 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GKMumbai, India107 contributionsThis temple is an old, traditional temple with a lot of good vibes. The name Mangaluru was derived from the goddess of this temple. Also has the history of more than 1000 years. Must visit when you're in Mangaluru.Written 23 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - V KMadurai14 contributionsThe chapel museum is a MUST SEE. Other than the grand temples, mosques and churches in India, I'd go so far as to say that this is the best small museum in India. It's got artefacts, coins going back to the 1600s, and the priests who have been here since the 1800s have contributed amazing artifacts like stamps, and other old and valuable items over the past 3 centuries.
And, it's not very big - you'd be able to get through it in 45 mins to an hour, max.Written 6 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
