- TigerRaoBengaluru, India88 contributionsI had association with this property for about 3 years-i was a GYM/SPA member (SHINE spa). Till the COVID crisis hit the hotel, it was truly a GREAT property! Post the COVID crisis, this property suffered severe staff cuts-for example, the FITNESS CENTRE (pre-COVID days) had 3 associates to assist the hotel guests/members in their fitness routines but post the COVID crisis, they cut it to ONE associate for the FITNESS CENTRE! Imagine the pressure on this SINGLE associate.
When the FITNESS CENTRE (FC) re-opened on August 17, 2020, the deterioration in service was clearly visible. What can a SINGLE associate do? But i wanted to give the hotel a chance. I kept quiet. All the while, the DIRECTOR OF ROOMS, Ashok Sivashankar used to give me gyan on how he is trying to do this or that. Eventually, nothing used to happen. Smilingly, i put up with their drop in FC service levels. The worst days were those when this single associate, Mr Shashidhar used to be on leave. Mr Sivashankar instructed the POOR therapists from the spa to supervise the FC! Phew...never in my association with various 5 STAR properties had i come across such an instance in my life wherein the FC is supervised by the spa therapists! This was the GREAT solution offered by the so called maverick, Director Of Rooms, Mr ASHOK SIVASHANKAR.
Meanwhile, the spa managerial standards were going to the DOGS! I had to escalate certain deficiencies in the spa front office functioning in Ocotber 2019 to the then affable GM, Sri Sujeet Kumar. That time, somehow, they papered over the crisis by NOT directly addressing the issue but things improved for me & i kept quiet given that i had become the spa member by paying UPFRONT a hefty amount!
As expected, post the COVID crisis, things at the spa ONLY went one way-Southwards (means downwards). The spa manager (incompetent though) was sent on GARDEN LEAVE towards the end of July 2020. Then, suddenly, towards the year end, they recalled her but struck a funny deal with her wherein she supervised the spa ONLY for two days in a week & sang during the weekends at the restaurant named: FEAST! Phew....Then suddenly, last month, she resigned. No clue as to why. Currently, the spa is HEADLESS.
All these issues flaring up at both the places ONLY made me slowly lose my patience with the management of this property.
The ultimate breaking point was when they shifted INADEQUATE FC equipments to a different location within the property. Mr Sivashankar, as is his style, tried to SWEET talk me into this useless new arrangement. I was nearly at the end of my patience with this property!
I tried to put my frustration across to the GM, Shibil Malik through an ANGRY mail. At once, i got a call from Ashok Sivashankar who suddenly was talking in a different TONE! I was shocked when he ABUSED me & said: We don't want your business. GET LOST, Mr RAO! He also threatened me with eviction from the property if i am ever seen near Sheraton! Phew...
Looks like people like Ashok Sivashankar (who anyways looks like a MAFIA style DON) are recruited by such properties to threaten clients when things get HOT or uncomfortable for the management.
Anyways, the management of Sheraton promptly cancelled my SPA/FC memberships. My response to that-Good riddance to BAD rubbish!
My legal team headed by an Senior advocate-High Court is actively looking into the matter. Prima facie, we have a case against Sheraton-THREAT TO LIFE felt be me when the DON like DOR, Sri Ashok Sivashankar spoke to me in a HIGH PITCH yesterday.
Honestly, i felt a CHILL run down my spine when Mr Ashok Sivashankar, Director of Rooms, Sheraton Grand spoke in a threateningly way on the phone.

If you are on the road and want to do a bit of exercise, but you are not in the mood for fancy, over-the-top stuff, then this is the right place for you! You will feel like you are at home, you will get great exercise (and nobody will judge you if you can do only one push up...)
The owner, coach RJ is really great and highly professional. He was very patient with me and in really short period, I picked up a lot of his knowledge.
I came there almost by chance, but I did not regret it.
