Great trip. Thupstan was a very knowledgeable and honest guy. He talked about all the fascinating details of the monasteries and the Ladakhi culture in general. He arranged for a nice lunch as well. The driver Lobzang was also a good guy and drove us around safely. Would highly recommend this to family and friends

Fida the manager, is a walking encyclopaedia! He has a Ph.D. on historical anthropology !!
I took a tour in ancient city and learnt a lot from him knowledge.
Therefore I decided to accept his offer for two days tour to Turtuk and Nubra valley. Well tailored for my interests.
    Amazing experience.
    Warmly recommended.

This is one of beautiful isolated areas away from the mundane world, where you can see beautiful views. Reaching this place is a bit adventurous due to rough terrain and sometimes low oxygen level. Fortunately our operator was carrying oxygen cylinders in the car for emergency . Thankfully the need for the same never arose. You have to pass high altitude and tough roads. Get ready for those before arriving.

We booked a one day trek in stok. We were given trekking sticks and packed lunch by the tour agency. We were accompanied by our guide Aijaz, who could speak English very well.

The trek is uphill and the path is rocky. The steeper parts were rather sandy i.e. smaller looser rocks which makes it easier for us to slip. Hence, you really need to get the proper trekking shoes that provides better grip and protects your ankles. Please wear sunblock and a hat to protect yourself from the sun. Honestly the trek is not for the faint hearted and low stamina persons as the path going up was by some sort of cliff. Hence, we cut short the trek lol (but villagers walking there were much older than us and were wearing slippers, and they walked through that path easily and quickly that they disappeared from our sight). Nonetheless, we managed to see a pack of wild deers drinking the stream water and then climbing back up the mountains! (Heard that snow leopards would only appear during winter time) And even ate some snacks by the stream.

As we cut short the trek, aijaz took the initiative to bring us to a park elsewhere to have a picnic and cooked us maggi by the Indus river; appreciate how he wanted share the ladakhi culture with us. Thanks!

Our day excursion to Pangong Lake from Leh was an unforgettable experience! The journey through the scenic mountain roads was breathtaking, offering stunning views of the vast landscapes along the way.

Upon reaching Pangong Lake, we were awestruck by its surreal beauty – the crystal-clear waters and the majestic backdrop of the Himalayas made for a perfect setting. The entire day was well-coordinated, with comfortable transport and an excellent guide who shared interesting facts about the area’s natural wonders.

This tour is a must-do for anyone visiting Leh! A seamless and mesmerizing experience that offers the perfect blend of adventure and tranquility. Highly recommended!

If you're thinking about visiting Ladakh for the first time, I would highly recommend Ladakh Backpackers to ensure you have a safe and wonderful time.

Fida was exceptionally helpful in curating our tour; we visited Leh, Nubra Valley, Turtuk and Pangong Tso, experiencing breathtaking scenery, historical sites, and interaction with locals in the villages. Fida's commitment to our experience didn't end with planning; he remained in contact throughout the trip to ensure everything was running smoothly, and provided updates on things we could see and do as new information became available. For example, although it was not originally in the itinerary, we were able to attend the Gustor Festival at Diskit Monastery in Nubra Valley.

With Ghulam behind the wheel, we felt completely at ease on mountain roads that might have otherwise felt daunting. He’s also a wonderful person with lots of information to share and seems to know everybody within a 300-mile radius.

Ladakh is a transformative experience, and I can’t recommend this company enough.

"Thiksey" monastery makes you to fully appreciate the breathtaking surroundings. Within the monastery, you'll encounter an impressive array of stupas and statues. The twelve stories of this architectural marvel house various sections adorned with significant artifacts.
The "Hemis" monastery is largest monastery in Ladakh founded in under the patronage of King Sengge Namgyal. Must visit places include the Main assembly hall, Old temple (1st floor), Butter lamp offering room and the Museum with its incredible collection of Buddhist art and artifacts collected and donated through the centuries. Please keep minimum 2 hrs in hand to explore this place.

They say if you haven't explored leh , you haven't seen it all. We ended our journey by seeing the most pristine lake which was pangong . The clear sky , majestic mountain view and the vibrant colours of lake made it feel unique. But when we thought this was it , we made our way to maan village and a homestay , where in they made us felt welcomed. The host Mr dorje and Ms dollar were very polite and sweet . The best part of the homestay was the kitchen ( well kept and tidy ) . I loved the whole vibe and would recommend everyone to stay there. Oh yess I forgot one more thing we ate authentic Ladakhi food which was yummyyy !!!

We had a wonderful trip to Srinagar and Leh Ladakh. The entire trip was for 12 days and during that time we had very good experience from the start to finish . Dorzay and his team are knowledgeable about the locales and also set expectations on what to expect in each of the places we had been . Especially remote places like Tsomoriri, the landscape is amazing , other than that it is a very remote place, we know what to expect ! The team is very patient , and worked with us to meet our needs and adjust schedules too. We were little nervous about the acclamatization initially , Dorzay came to meet with us on the day we arrived in Leh to boost our confidence . Overall the trip was very good and special shout out for drive Ali for making the journey very safe and enjoyable. The only area to improve for Active adventure and Dorzay would be to share a detailed and confirmed schedule atleast 2 weeks prior to the trip! Finally will strongly endorse Dorzay and team for folks visiting the region!

    Hello! From Brunei Darussalam
When I plan multiple trips to India, Nishat tour and travel will always be my first choice.

Our trips this time led us to Leh Ladakh and Kashmir and as expected are very well arranged. The itinerary covered most of the places I wish to explore. Hotels in Leh, Kargil, Pahalgam & Srinagar are meticulously assigned, clean & comfortable which suits my expectation with views of rugged mountain & rivers. The walking distant to Dal Lake in Kashmir is another bonus. Our tour guide Jigmet, Ghulam & others are very helpful & even take the time to explain the history and importance of each visits. Special thanks to our guide for ensuring that we have comfortable ride throughout.
Best when we divert from our itinerary, the owner, Shaqoor ensure to accomodate our request. Our houseboat stay at Nigeen lake are awesome and caretaker provide us too-notch service.

Overall I am satisfy and strongly recommend Nishat tour & travel if you happen to plan for trips to Kashmir.
Not only your visit are well taken care of but the staffs are amazing and readily available to assist.
Thank you Shaqoor for a memorable and unforgetable visit/service.

We did a 2 week Kashmir and Ladakh tour with Ladakh backpackers from 1-15 July.

I got to know of this company from TripAdvisor where they were rated #1. When I emailed them it became apparent that this is a truly responsible company - Fida replied to us very promptly providing detailed itineraries customised to our requirements. We made several changes to the itinerary and Fida always replied very promptly. We decided to book all accommodation directly using Ladakh backpackers only for logistics and transport and Fida never minded this. The fact that they were never pushy gave a very positive vibe.

For the Kashmir leg our driver and guide was Mr Shakeel. He is one of the best persons we interacted across all our travels across the world - very humble, polite and always accommodating of all our requests. He was always ensuring our best interest by providing us useful suggestions and taking us to the best places for sightseeing and shopping and always telling us what we needed to take care of in terms of any negotiating on pricing etc. We got quite late at dinner a couple of nights in Srinagar but Shakeel never minded. We never felt Shakeel was our driver - he was more of a family friend for us taking care of us as his guests in Kashmir. He is a gem of a person.

On reaching Ladakh, Mr Abdul was assigned to us as our driver. We were always hesitant if Mr Abdul would be as good as Mr Shakeel but over time we realised that Mr Abdul was a really warm, caring and friendly person. He became friends to our children taking photographs of our family at different occasions. He always ensured our well-being advising us to always drink lots of water and not sleep during the day to ensure quick acclimatisation. In Pangong he came to our room with the oxygen cylinder and taught us how to use it at night if needed in case of any emergency whereas most other drivers would just keep the cylinder in the car and provide it if requested by the guests.

It was now clear to us that the reason of success of this company is that they employed some really good people who genuinely cared for their guests.

Lastly how can I not mention about the phenomenal owners of this wonderful company - Fida and Padma. They came to meet us on our first night at Leh - I thought this was unique as one wouldn’t expect the owners of a tour company to come and meet guests personally. But that’s not all - my son fell ill in Leh and had to be admitted for a few hours in the public hospital . Infact it was Padma who guided us on how to get medical care and ensured Abdul took us to the hospital promptly. Not just that - as my son was being treated in the hospital Fida and Padma personally came to the hospital and waited there till my son was discharged. And then Fida and Padma came and met us again on the last night of our trip in Leh to check if everything went well. Truly phenomenal.

Fida is infact doing his PhD in tourism and I hope this takes him and his company to greater heights. He is a very polite, warm person and so is Padma.

Words cannot describe the genuine, warm and truly good people Fida, Padna, Shakeel and Abdul and everyone that works for this gem of a company are. The reason of their success is that they are genuine and good people. If you are visiting Kashmir and Ladakh, do not look any further than this wonderful company. Wishing them all the success.
