Just awesome...tso camps are superb in decoration as well as boarding. The rooms are extremely spacious and comfortable. The food is really good and delicious with so much variety every time. The management is also great. We kept our luggages at the hotel and it was beautifully managed by them.

I would absolutely recommend anyone staying in Leh to stay in this second home and have the best homely experience away from home.

Gateway to the Nubra and Shyok Valleys in the Ladakh region. It is the highest motorable pass in the world. Khardung La Pass is positioned on the Ladakh range, which is 40 km from Leh, at an altitude of 18,379 ft (5602 m). A motorable road through the pass was built in 1976, and opened to public motor vehicles in 1988. Maintained by the Border Roads Organisation, the pass is strategically important to India as it is used to carry supplies to the Siachen Glacier.

I visited this on my solo bike ride to Pangong lake. It's on Leh - Pangong road and world's second highest pass. Snow can be seen here throughout the year. Don't stay here for more than half an hour as it may cause High Altitude Sickness. A cafeteria is there that charges everything double.
A temple "Changla Baba Sthal" is there, dedicated to Lord Shiva. It feels great being here on this mighty pass.

It is located on top of a hill in Thiksey approximately 19 kilometres (12 mi) east of Leh in Ladakh, India. It is a twelve-storey complex and houses many items of Buddhist art such as stupas, statues, thangkas, wall paintings and swords. One of the main attractions of Thiksey Monastery is the Maitreya Temple

I visited this while on my bike ride to Pangong lake. Its on Srinagar-Ladakh road. Here, everyday is like 15 Aug and 26 Jan, filled with patriotism, love and emotions. For me, it was like a pilgrimage site. Some parts were closed for maintenance work. Some of the peaks where Kargil war was fought, is clearly visible from here. A documentary is shown at regular intervals for the visitors. A must visit place for everyone. Artillery n fighter aircraft used in during Kargil war is also displayed here.

This place is for those who love open spaces, good landscapes and an escape from nature. September was a good time to vist. Tip - for double hunchback camel ride, reach around 4pm to enjoy the same. We reached at 5.30pm and people with tickets were still waiting for their ride. ATV experience is also one of the finest one here. We stayed in Lotus Eco resort which has an open space and good view of mountains.

This place is on a hill top closer to Hanle village. If you are travelling to this remotest village closer to China border, do include this place to visit in your itinerary. You need a prior permission to visit this place. The person available there will give you a tour and explain the functioning using a ppt presentation. You can walk up to upper deck and see the machines and wonder how this is controlled from Bangalore. The view from the hill top is awesome. Overall a great experience.

If you have your own transport than a side trip to this monastery is well worth it. The scenery both at the monastery and the drive to it was amazing. The monastery is situated right at the end of the valley and boasts amazing views of the opposing mountainside. It was unfortunatley closed during our visit but fascinating and quiet.
