The festival only runs for about 3 wks. There were all colors and breeds of tulips plus a hyacinth and daffodil section. This is a must if you're in srinagar in April.Written 11 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Apu ChowdhurySylhet City, Bangladesh131 contributionsVisiting Dal Lake in Srinagar was truly a breathtaking experience. The surrounding mountains created an incredible backdrop, making the scenery feel almost surreal. Being on the lake itself, with the calm waters and the majestic view, was unforgettable. I had the chance to enjoy a boat ride, which gave me a peaceful moment to take it all in—something I’ll never forget.Written 16 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Siow Pei Y6 contributionsWe went to Kashmir in group of 4, all ladies. We booked 6 days trip with Mr Shakil (+91 96227 09560), the best tour guide I’ve ever came across.
Our itinerary as follow,
Day 1 - walk around Srinagar, visits botanical gardens
Day 2 - Gulmarg by cable car
Day 3 - Pahalgam (pony riding)
Day 4 - Sonamarg (sightseeing + zip line)
Day 5 - Sonamarg (zero point + pony riding)
Day 6 - Back to Srinagar (shop for souvenirs).
Mr Shakil arranged all the activities and transportation (including cable car and pony) for us. He made sure we were comfortable throughout the journey and also made sure we paid the correct price for everything (a lot of people offering ridiculous price for their services and goods).
He is very knowledgeable and funny. He shared a lot of stories with us and we never get bored in the car ride. Most importantly, we felt safe with him as our guide.
Highly recommend Mr Shakil for Kashmir tour. For those who do not have so many days to spend here, I would suggest to drop Gulmarg, but Sonamarg is place must visit. The view is amazing!Written 23 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - James cOklahoma City, OK393 contributionsMy houseboat Mascot houseboatd was on this lake, so I had shikara rides on this lake instead if dal lake. According to other reviews, nigeen lake is much cleaner than dal, it is very clean and the surrounding scenery is just beautiful, especially when the sun is out. I believe the houseboats on nigeen cost more as well. But worth it.Written 3 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TrueIndianIndian216 contributionsOne hour drive from Srinagar.
From Ganderbal you leave the highway and take village road. Road is narrow but good and one can enjoy the countryside.
Can combine with visit to Kheer Bhawani temple and Wular lake.
One can view the lake from the park or from outside the park.
There are a number of entries to the park. Entry fee is Rs 24 per person.
For better view and activities it is better to enter the park.
Park has enough shade and benches to sit.
The place is fairly quiet as there are not many tourists. Lake is famous for its Lotus flowers.
One can take a Shikara ride and children can enjoy some rides in the park on payment basis.
There is a restaurant inside the park and a food court outside the park. There were very few options for eating as most food stalls were closed.
It is advised that one should carry your own food as good food may not be available on this circuit.
There is an ancient submerged Shiva temple on one end of the lake which can be approached from outside the park also. A caretaker is available who for a tip will take you inside the locked premises to feed fishes.
Time required around one hour, more if you take a Shikara ride (Rs 400 for one hour)Written 4 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Amiel RTokyo, Japan16 contributionsPrior to arrival Waseem was attentive and prompt with responses via WhatsApp. Arriving into a Srinagar airport, he collected us and drove us into the main centre to our accommodation. Owais was our driver for the next several days taking us around local sites and for day trips to Doodparthri, Gulmarg, Yousmarg and to Pahalgam - an incredible safe, reliable driver and helped us negotiate with pony-wallahs at all checkpoints and even took us to a cricket bat factory - incredible experience!
I highly recommend their services as they are incredibly friendly, professional & hospitable - A+++Written 19 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
