Beautiful place with amazing shikara ride. But it’s little over hyped. The lake is kinda dirty with lots of plants in the water and mosquitoes in evening time.
Also we aware of floating market guys who come to sale. As soon as u start the shikara, one or other person will come to sell something. They price all items at 10 times so quite price that way.
We got shikara miniature at 400 after bargaining and same was available in lal chauk at 100 with even bargaining.
Same for artificial jewellery, they guy quoted 5500 and we left and was eventually ready to give in even 1000. So don’t buy anything or bargain at 1/10th price. Thanks me later.

    One hour drive from Srinagar.
From Ganderbal you leave the highway and take village road. Road is narrow but good and one can enjoy the countryside.
Can combine with visit to Kheer Bhawani temple and Wular lake.
One can view the lake from the park or from outside the park.
There are a number of entries to the park. Entry fee is Rs 24 per person.
For better view and activities it is better to enter the park.
Park has enough shade and benches to sit.
The place is fairly quiet as there are not many tourists. Lake is famous for its Lotus flowers.
One can take a Shikara ride and children can enjoy some rides in the park on payment basis.
There is a restaurant inside the park and a food court outside the park. There were very few options for eating as most food stalls were closed.
It is advised that one should carry your own food as good food may not be available on this circuit.
There is an ancient submerged Shiva temple on one end of the lake which can be approached from outside the park also. A caretaker is available who for a tip will take you inside the locked premises to feed fishes.
Time required around one hour, more if you take a Shikara ride (Rs 400 for one hour)

It is mountain river, in sonamarg It is red in colour, meets the mighty Indus River at Baltic colony. The Baltic community that stays here believes that the waters have curative powers.
It is believed that the reddish water of this river bears medicinal properties. Hence, people come here every Sunday, in large numbers to bathe

Gagribal is one of the four parts of the huge Dal Lake. The view is simply mesmerizing. This is the part of the lake wherein you can see shikharas, houseboats, Shankaracharya Hill and lovely restaurants on Boulevard Road.

Anchar Lake was very dirty during our visit. No proper care was taken from the government officials to clean it. It is becoming dirty and dirty day by day.
