A must do Shikara ride. Very safe and the markets is not for selling only. It’s a floating Reastarants. The Kashmiri Gawa is the best I’ve had in 8 days, hot chocolate for young son, crispy French fries. All amazing

Nigeen Lake is better and more peaceful lake than that of the Dal Lake. Its clean and provides peace of mind while staying in a houseboat.

Wonderful though crowded. Lots of locals and tourists both. It was a lovely evening spent in October and we got lucky enough to chat with the gardeners about upcoming suitable plants for the winter season. Highly recommended. Our driver was rushing us so we got less than an hour here, but you could easily relax here and spend a couple of hours contemplating the giant flowers. Clean toilets inside and also a limited cafe where you can get food and tea. The Nishat Shopping Centre right opposite has great food and shopping options.

The overall experience was mesmerising, the photos are truly natural, the Shalimar Ganga view attracts the eyes, the pony service was too homelike, the ganga is around 5-6 km from parking spot, 3 modes are available- Pony Service, ATV rides and Walking though there are several reviews although the major spot is Ganga and its MUST VISIT PLACE, less crowded and full of nature, Plan your day here instead of Sonmarg.

After houseboats and the mountains, it is the moghul gardens for which Kashmir is most famous. But sadly except Shalimar Baag and Noishant Garden, you can skip other gardens. These two gardens are largest and may take a half day for properly explore. Lovely chinar trees increases the beauty of these gardens, add to the view of Dal Lake which are lacking at other gardens.

Must visit place. Pony ride deep into forest hills nearly 6 hours with family reaching a huge lake. Ride into wilderness is memorable. No comission to cabs hence not popular/ promoted but must bargain rate. Gentle ride unlike Gulmarg, Sonamarg.

The views, Autumn colours on Chinar trees were beautiful, the garden itself is a treat but being under renovation there was a lot building material which scattered around which took away from the experience somewhat

Visited this garden with my family yesterday and it was splendid. A quite place with minimal visitors allow you to relax and calm your nerves. Loved the garden management, plenty of flowers and almonds on the trees. Perfect place to take sometime off from your hectic schedule with your family. Highly recommended.

The garden is on the way to Parimahal and the smallest of the moghul gardens in Kashmir. A stream is flowing in the garden and it is believed that The first prime minister of India, mr. Nehru used to drink water from this stream due to its medicinal property, specific for digestion. So there is a special spot for drinking the water of the stream and if you take empty water bottles, then you can collect water also. Apart from this nothing fascinating about this place.

    One hour drive from Srinagar.
From Ganderbal you leave the highway and take village road. Road is narrow but good and one can enjoy the countryside.
Can combine with visit to Kheer Bhawani temple and Wular lake.
One can view the lake from the park or from outside the park.
There are a number of entries to the park. Entry fee is Rs 24 per person.
For better view and activities it is better to enter the park.
Park has enough shade and benches to sit.
The place is fairly quiet as there are not many tourists. Lake is famous for its Lotus flowers.
One can take a Shikara ride and children can enjoy some rides in the park on payment basis.
There is a restaurant inside the park and a food court outside the park. There were very few options for eating as most food stalls were closed.
It is advised that one should carry your own food as good food may not be available on this circuit.
There is an ancient submerged Shiva temple on one end of the lake which can be approached from outside the park also. A caretaker is available who for a tip will take you inside the locked premises to feed fishes.
Time required around one hour, more if you take a Shikara ride (Rs 400 for one hour)

We went on Friday and it was very crowded. However it is well maintained except for their horrible toilet. The stream of water is potable at the source as it coming out from underground
