When I Srinagar, do visit this place due to its historic significance. It is on the main market area. There are so many shops selling all varieties of items you search for.You can bargain a lot to get your things. - neeratravelerSan Francisco, CA286 contributionsThe Hari Parbat fort located on a hill was built over several centuries. Emperor Akbar built a wall around the hill in the 16th Century and the Afghan governor Atta Mohammed Khan built the fort in the 18th Century.
There is a temple within the fort walls and there is also a mosque below the fort. There are about 150 steps to reach the top. The fort itself is interesting but it have seen more impressive forts. Again not the most outstanding views but good, and you do get altitude confirmation. I've been at this place for app 3 days (including nights as my hotel was at 70 meter distance). Believe me this is the best place to be.
