Reached Srinagar Airport at 3.30 pm on Monday May 9, 2022.
Just outside the airport, next to pre-paid taxi stand, you can board the Govt local transport bus which will take you the TRC( Tourist reception center), for just Rs. 80/- , safe for anyone to travel , even if you have travel baggage.
Traffic is real crazy in Srinagar. The moment we reached TRC and got down from the bus, Auto drivers came running towards us for the ride, an old uncle was very kind and we agreed to board his auto, we were 2 of us and we had 3 travel bags, we comfortably seated and he agreed to drop us to Dal lake for just Rs. 150/-, it costed us Rs. 80x2 Bus + Auto - Rs. 150/- which is Rs. 310/- , which other wise would have costed us Rs. 800-1000 by private cab from Airport to Dal lake. The auto chacha Mr. Mohammad Subhan - 9858703509, also agreed to take us on local sight seeing the next day, We were amazed at the kindness and hospitality of the auto driver. We had booked a boat house at Wild Rose, Mr. Ibraham , 9419432243, his son had come us to recieve us Gate No. 15 at the Dal Lake, he ferried us in his small boat and within 20 min, we were at the boat house, it was bit far off, but lovely place overlooking the high rise mountains.

Great experience! After Keukonhof in Holland this was a wonderful experience. The surrounding mountain range made it so special.

Most of the places are reachable only by ponies. However one can walk through the market and also roam around to enjoy the beauty of this place. The route from Srinagar to Sonamarg is picturseque

Nice temple and entire valley can be seen from here.
Eventhough there are 250 steps travelers can sit and climb it and its not very hectic

Its better than dal lake in terms of quietness and commercialization. Will recommend for a shikahra ride and if not wanting vendors one can tell the boatman to tell them not to come

Yousmarg is a great offbeat location just about 50kms away from Srinagar. You could make a day trip or even stay over and enjoy some peace. Vast expanses of green meadows, lakes and the doodhganga river make it interesting

This is a lovely garden and a must visit in Srinagar. The best time to visit as I understand is during March/April when the almond trees are in full bloom. Unfortunately we couldnt see this. But the garden itself was quite lovely. With almond trees, flowering plants including lovely red roses, etc. The Allah fountain is a majestic structure. Well worth a visit.

This was a surprise. Wonderful garden at different levels amidst ruins. It is lighted up so well at night that from Vivanta it looks like a fortress in the hills. Check out the history of Dara Sikoh and Pari Mahal

It was out of our expectations, in our entire trip of Kashmir of Sonmarg, Gulmarg and Pahalgam, we found Sinthan Top experience to be the best. The route is on mountains giving you the best picturesque view, long fir trees and the white shining mountains frm far attracts you. Even in May visit it had snow on the side of the roads, at some places 5-6 feet snow wall is there , and the best view comes wen you reach on the top, all over snow on mountains and down, you can walk on it on, play thrown snowballs, click your lifetime best pics and return. Either you eat n go or better buy snacks for there, as on top you can get just tea coffee maggie and paratha. Pls check the pictures of may month.

On the way to Sonmarg this is an amazing temple which has been preserved well. The prasad is Kheer and the Puja process is detailed. I intend to go back in due course.

Irrespective of your faith you must visit this place to feel the vibes. Also known as just 'Dargah'. Do visit the adjoining market also.
