Good place to visit for a day. We went in April so could see lot of snow. Places to see.is Thajiwas Glacier. During summer it is full of greenery and colorful flowers. In summer you can drive upto Zozila Pass which is an hour drive.

The places is very nice. . has beautiful meadows.

A picnic spot for locals and camping spot for travellers along the banks of Shaliganaga river.

You can take pony rides also to go further into the forests.

Unfortunately people are throwing garbage and making the place dirty.

My houseboat Mascot houseboatd was on this lake, so I had shikara rides on this lake instead if dal lake. According to other reviews, nigeen lake is much cleaner than dal, it is very clean and the surrounding scenery is just beautiful, especially when the sun is out. I believe the houseboats on nigeen cost more as well. But worth it.
