Organised by Travgram for 2 families with just about barely sufficient requirements. We had a requirement for a customised holiday in Turkey. There was a customised itinerary that was finalised prior to making final payments.
But loads of gaps during the vacation were blatant, like the day trip in Istanbul which did not cover the visit to Hagiya Sophia, despite it being mentioned as a part of the our visit. The hotel in Istanbul, arranged by Travgram is to be avoided at all costs. An extremely uncomfortable place, with 2 rooms, both being equally poor in terms of air conditioning (the central heating was on, rendering the room very hot even in peak winter. The staff at Konak were to the point and rude and were “referring” us to the travel agent if we had any issues with the room heating. We had to bear 3 nights there, quite unfortunately. A boat ride for the evening in Istanbul was noisy with an environment not suiting families.
The subsequent trip to Capadocia had us do only one day there without a back-up day for the hot air balloon ride, which is subject to weather conditions. Also in Antalya, what was delivered vis a vis, what was committed had gaping holes.
Finally, with food, very average food was being served. This even when Turkey had great food options.
When confronted, a simple “sorry” was used to diffuse the situation. Needless to say, we overpaid in terms of what was delivered.
The only positive was the coordination for transportation within Turkey. Good and timely updates are well appreciated.
