- LMo7 contributionsA luxurious tour from a passionate guide with encyclopedic knowledge of Goa! This was my first visit to Goa and I was initially overwhelmed trying to figure out how to see historical sites spread across South Goa. I was interested in the Portuguese influence outside Panjim but I was traveling solo and didn’t have transportation of my own. This tour solved that problem and exceeded my expectations. Mario is an expert at what he does—from his knowledge of history, to the high quality service, to his personal connections. He thought of the smallest details, like refreshing towels and shady spots to stand. He also was able to convince a historic home owner to open for tours on a day when the owner originally planned to close. Mario patiently answered every one of my questions and I walked away with a much richer understanding of Goa, past and present. I loved seeing the market. Another highlight was the Palácio do Deão. The lunch there was my best meal in Goa and will likely be the best food I eat during my entire trip to India. - Felix F7 contributionsThe whole private tour was amazing! We were picked up by Alauddin from our hotel straight to Mopa Airport. We boarded our flight to Delhi, where we were driven to a 5-star hotel (Crystal Sarovar Premier) in Agra by KP Singh. We were taken to Haveli restaurant where we had a buffet dinner.
The next day, our guide Arun met us in the lobby and guided us through the Taj Mahal. Arun has been doing this for 20yrs (& the photos he took for us are amazing) and shared so much history with us. We went to the Baby Taj and Agra Fort as well. For authentic souvenirs, we went to specialty shops to see how carpets with precious gemstones are made by hand, marble with precious stones shaped to different designs by master craftsmen, and rugs of the highest quality, all to showcase the traditional aspects of India and the city of Agra. At the end of our tour, KP drove us back to Delhi airport and boarded our flight back to Goa. Alauddin met us at the Dabolim airport and took us back to our hotel.
Overall, the entire tour experience was amazing, the earlier you go, the better the views of Taj Mahal.
