- mesumu4u4 contributionsIf you are looking for budget Shillong tour from Guwahati you are at the right place.First of all, you need to book AC bus from Paltanbazar depot in well advance. Bus timings are 7am and 8am and fare is 166/- per head, while the shared tata sumos ask for minimum 300 per head. It will take around 3 hours to reach Police bazar depot in Shillong. From there, book bus ticket for Shillong local sight seeing from MSTC office which is adjacent to the Policebazar depot.It will take around 300 per head and will conclude at 2 pm after visiting 7 popular local attractions namely, Shillong peak, elephant falls, lady Hydari park, Air force museum, etc.Alternatively, local taxi can be hired for the same costing 900 or more. Those who have the plan to stay or to visit Cherapunji, dowki, etc. can book the ticket from the MSTC office. Theose tours generally start at 8 am in the morning. Note that there is no online booking facility till date for MSTC buses, though they are highly comfortable accompanied by authorized guides with them. Plenty of cheap hotels are available near policebazar. Don't miss the delicious lunch at Suruchi or at Arun Hotel in Pilicebazar. You may return back by ASTC buses on the same day commencing from Policebazar. Bus timings are 2 pm and 3 pm. During my journey, I had the opportunity to explore the breathtaking destinations of Tawang, Bomdila, and Dirang, each offering a unique and unforgettable experience. I went to Zero Point, North Sikkim a few months ago. Simply I can say that Arunachal is something different and unique that any mountain lover should visit at least once.
PAP Management by NEST North East Sojourn Travels:
The process of obtaining a Protected Area Permit (PAP) can be a daunting task for foreign travelers in Arunachal Pradesh, but NEST North East Sojourn Travels made it incredibly smooth and hassle-free. They provided invaluable assistance in acquiring the necessary permits, ensuring that I had all the required documents in order. Their team was knowledgeable about the process and the intricacies of the local regulations, making the permit acquisition a stress-free experience.

Memorable Experiences in Tawang, Bomdila, and Dirang:
Tawang:
Tawang is a hidden gem nestled amidst the Himalayas, and it truly took my breath away. The scenic drive to Tawang, surrounded by lush greenery, and snow-capped peaks that were not visible due to clouds of monsoon. The highlight of my visit to Tawang was the awe-inspiring Tawang Monastery, one of the largest monasteries in India. The tranquility and spirituality of this place were truly profound.
I also explored the beautiful Sela Pass, which was not white with snow in September. The warmth of the local people in Tawang, their colorful festivals, and the delicious local cuisine made my stay in this region unforgettable.
Bomdila:
Bomdila, with its picturesque landscapes and tranquil environment, provided a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The visit to Bomdila Monastery allowed me to witness the local Buddhist culture up close. The trekking opportunities in Bomdila were fantastic, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayan terrain.
Dirang:
Dirang, with its lush valleys, pristine rivers, and charming villages, was a refreshing stop on my journey. I stayed in a traditional homestay in Dirang, which allowed me to immerse myself in the local way of life.
The hotels and restaurants are a different topic so I left the description for this review.
In conclusion, my solo trip to Arunachal Pradesh, managed by NEST North East Sojourn Travels, was an unforgettable adventure filled with breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural experiences, and warm hospitality. The ease of obtaining the PAP through their assistance made the journey hassle-free, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the beauty and culture of Tawang, Bomdila, and Dirang. - M V12 contributionsWe took a 3 day package from Assam Tours & Travels to see around Majuli (including stay), and places around Jorhat. The whole experience was very satisfying as Mr Mishra was very proactive, communicative and helpful. We had a car for ourselves, and the visits to the numerous points of interest were covered efficiently. The stays at Jorhat and Majuli were very comfortable and homely. And, in Majuli, the thoughtfulness in providing a local guide to explain the important aspects aa well as to show us the special places which we wouldn't have accessed otherwise, made the trip memorable. He was extremely patient during the iteration stage with our questions. During the travel window I did not feel short of time or rushed and enjoyed every day indepth. The ground support was great and the guide Eleazor was one of the best I have experienced in terms of knowledge, openness to explore , friendliness, care and fun quotient. A few very minor hiccups on the ground but it had nothing to do with bad planning or nothing that came in the way of having an immersive experience. Everything from food, lodging, transport, permits was taken care of very well. Special mention for Viki da & Naseem Bhaiwho were tending to the needs consistently and helping us tread through this adventure journey to Arunachal and Tawang. Looking forward to more happening trips with them in future. Our group of 14 friends enjoyed every bit of the motorbike tour.
