I'd like to start first with something I feel is important in hopes that people will see it easily...
The trip includes an optional extra visit to a Nubian village in Aswan. It's amazing there, you should really go. However, this visit includes crocodiles being held inside the home of a Nubian family. The family give you the option to hold a baby crocodile. I understand that this might be fun and adventurous to many, but I urgeee you to avoid it, please. The baby crocodiles are kept in a BUCKET with their MOUTHS TAPED SHUT, and fished out every few minutes to be passed around for photos. There were also two adult crocodiles there being kept in a tiny enclosure (couldn't move at all) with just a puddle of water. It was heartbreaking to see. I understand that this family are just trying to make money, and I want to highlight that the food and service there was lovely, they are nice people. The problem is the tourists who don't think about the reality they're seeing in front of their eyes and who prioritise a "cool" Instagram picture over the well-being of these animals. Please please, refuse to hold them, and make it clear to your guide that you don't like the situation. This is the only way it can be changed. If everyone refuses, they will stop doing it.
Moving on... the tour was amazing, everything was great and really good value for money. 4 days is quite short to pack it all in; early mornings and lots of moving around, but if you're on a budget and/or short on time it's a fantastic option. If you value a bit more downtime, maybe opt for a longer tour.
You see all the main sites and Mahmoud is an extremely knowledgeable and friendly tour guide who accompanies you to each one to give you the info. On day 3 you spend the afternoon cruising up the Nile to Luxor and the views are insane! Super beautiful. The food on the boat was very good with lots of options, friendly staff. Really happy we booked this trip :)
