What travellers are saying
- Olivia S1 contributionDaniel was so helpful in helping my husband and I book our tours last minute! He really went above and beyond to make sure that we were able to visit all of the places we wanted to and he was so helpful with any questions we had. Our guide David for the San Cristobal tour helped my husband and I with our first snorkel experience on our trip. He helped make sure we were comfortable and able to see some sea turtles, fish and sea lions during our time in the water. We really enjoyed La Loberia beach! So beautiful!! We also did the day tour to Espanola where we had the most amazing day seeing blue footed boobies, albatrosses, and iguanas. After this exploration, we even enjoyed some snorkeling. The guide and crew were so great! Daniel was also super helpful in booking our ferry tickets to Santa Cruz where he gave us advice on independent activities we could do. Lastly, Daniel helped us book a kayaking tour on Isabella Island at Los Tintoreras where we kayaked with penguins, sting rays, sea lions, and turtles. We had the best trip thanks to Daniel and Guiding Galapagos!! We will definitely be back and will plan with them again!Written 19 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Udi345Oregon5 contributionsWe booked several tours with this company, everything was well organized, and enjoyable, in the Galapagos we managed to see many animals, stay in decent hotels, eat well and all that on low budget, Itai and his team were always available to answer our questions, we had a great time and we highly recommend this travel agency.Written 30 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ChristinaQueens, NY36 contributionsI'm not sure if I actually went on this tour with BM Tours SA - as the person who was supposed to meet me never showed up. Another tour operator from Andry Tours looked at my voucher and said they would take me since they are all "a family." I actually ended up with a completely different group - so this review is really for Andry Tours and whatever agency they connected me with.
That said. The tour was very enjoyable. Our guide, John, was very knowledgeable and helped us to see sea lions, sea turtles, spotted eagle rays, and hammerhead sharks (from a distance). The three snorkeling spots were full of marine wildlife.
Note to those considering this trip, depending on the boat and the season, the water can be extremely rough. Even some of those who never get seasick were feeling quesy. Keep in mind for those who get easily seasick, you might spend about 1/4 of the time - the portion of the day in the roughest waters - feeling pretty bad without dramamine, etc.Written 26 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The Islands are enchanting and should be on your bucket list. With just one exception, the guides Rebecca's lined up for us were highly informative and entertaining. The hotels were all good or great, and the people who helped us were warm and helpful. (The only thing we wouldn't repeat was the speedboat trips between islands - those were brutal!)Written 30 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sigita K8 contributionsRebecca Adventure travel did a great job to organize our trip. We had amazing time in Galapagos. All was organized very smoothly. Itinerary itself was very good, intensive and full of discoveries. Thank you!Written 25 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - vtticoVermont, USA108 contributionsThis is a looooong boat ride around the island. We visited all the sites in the description and it seemed like we visited even more places than were listed. This is a loooooong boat ride. Some folks, even the 20-somethings, took naps along the way. Beautiful scenery and an OK lunch. Our guide seemed to enjoy working hard to ensure that each and every guest had a good time. Management folks in the office were effective and helpful.Written 11 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jason H1 contributionUnforgettable trip, couldn't have asked for a more lovely trip, went above and beyond for me and my partner! Howlanders were very understanding and helpful by rescheduling my trip for me.
It was incredibly organised throughout which was a godsend for us stressheads, made the trip ever soo much more relaxing, our tour guide was an absolute sweetheart 10/10 experience will definitely be doing it again soon!Written 2 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was such a great trip, saw sharks, green sea turtles, tropical reef fish in huge numbers, it was very awe inspiring. Had a nice lunch on the boat. Also saw an assortment of sea birds nesting on the rocks. A couple of notes: the water is a little chilly in july, even with a half wetsuit on. The ride can be bumpy, so take a motion sickness pill if rocky rides affect you.Written 10 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Irteza BPhiladelphia, PA2 contributionsExcellent visit to three islands with local guides and arranged transportation. We were very happy with the service. Even when our flight to Isabela was delayed, Rebecca’s agents worked with us to make sure we had more time to explore Isabela.Written 12 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Prina P2 contributionsI booked 20+ day tour to Galápagos Islands with Rebecca Adventures. I frankly cannot thank them enough for making it such a memorable trip for me and my teenage daughter. Wilma from the agency did an outstanding job planning a customized trip for us.
They were quick to respond to any question we had on WhatsApp. The hotels they picked were clean & nice, and were located in heart of the town so we could easily walk around, get a meal. I felt cared for through out the trip.
We had delay/changes in flights and Rebecca Adventures arranged for additional PCR testing as needed. They worked with us through out the trip if a need came up, reminding us what time we will picked at the hotel, what to expect, etc.
I frankly cannot wait to book another tour with them. I highly recommend their tours.Written 21 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We picked Rebecca since it is a smaller company that hires local people.
Before our trip, we were wondering if we should have bit the bullet and paid for a cruise. We are so happy that we did the land option instead.
Why?
1. you have time on your own to stroll around the islands and discover on your own.
2. experience locally owned restaurants for dinner and lunch/snacks/drinks.
3. Meet a variety of different people since your itinerary is based on you as opposed to a large group.
4. Stay in locally owned accommodations
Lodging:
The three hotels we stayed in were clean, friendly, breakfast provided and provided purified drinking water.
Casa de Nelly (San Cristobel)
Hotel Coloma (Santa Cruz)
Hotel San Vincent (Isabella)
Hot water, good water pressure
Body wash and shampoo provided
Fridges in most rooms
Clean beds/sheets
Comfortable pillows
Air conditioning
Helpful and knowledgeable staff
Each hotel was locally owned with a sense of pride, a nice change from large chain hotels.
Tours:
Kicker Rock
Kayaking
Paddle boarding
Los Tuneles
Mountain Biking
Tortoise breeding centre
Sierra Negro
All tours were outstanding. Well organized, passionate and friendly guides. Family friendly. We can’t say enough about the tours Rebecca organized for us. Rebecca was very responsive to our questions. Each afternoon Carlos sent us a message via What’s App regarding the next day’s itinerary along with what to bring for the excursion.
We met people who were in other tour groups and they did not receive the same experiences as we did on the tours organized through Rebecca.
Examples to name a few:
Isabela Island - Sierra Negro hike. Our guide provided hiking poles and purified water/lunch was provided after our hike. We were also taken to a local produce farm. After speaking to people who hiked with a different company, hiking poles and water was not provided, nor did they visit a farm to taste different fruits.
Snorkelling Los Tuneles:
Amazing guide and Captain - he videoed the snorkelling excursion so we could bring home memories of sea life - we met others who went to Los Tuneles and they did not get this added touch of the videos.
Transportation:
Rebecca organized our ferry rides between the islands thank goodness and someone representing Rebecca met us at each pier helping us to embark or disembark. They were really helpful and all knew our itinerary.
We were so pleased with Rebecca Travel and would highly recommend this company to help organize your trip to the Galapagos.Written 9 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The rooms are without windows like coffins and it’s noisy. The owner lied and said we’d given her $75 when we’d given her $150. However desperate do not stay here. San Cristóbal is small and the weekends get busy so book ahead.
We’ve been island hopping on our own (my son and I) without a tour,
unless necessary, so we didn’t book ahead- we’ve been lucky on the other islands. They are inflexible here unlike the mainland and the food is pretty average everywhere with a coffee shortage post pandemic too…
Moaning over - as with most countries that offer spectacular sights there is often hard travelling involved. But this is spectacular. You don’t need to spend a fortune either. Come and enjoy it but a lot has closed in the pandemic so you probably need to be a little more organised than we were. Air B and B works here but the internet is terrible so it’s hard for people to have an online presence. In fact we didn’t have internet on Isabela before coming here so we couldn’t have booked ahead!
The best meal I’ve had in two months travelling was the next block towards the sea from the dreadful Andy’s, on the left. Fabulous fresh fish, lobster and meat on the grill. It’s slow but worth it, cooked to order
If you can afford it get the bi-plane to Isabella or back, otherwise it’s two long rough boat rides vía Santa Cruz and a few hours wait inbetween.
I’ve loved it here, I was in Ecuador mainland before - I’m just trying to help not complain. It’s fabulous. For anyone who needs stuff with them there are hardly any shops so bring your shampoo/medicines!Written 16 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. He was flexible and patient. The adventure started right after we got off the plane and didn't stop until we left the last day. Each place we met courteous people that were so helpful and kind. The places we visited were educational and so enjoyable. Dante was great to work with and available for us the whole way. He and the people he had working with him took care of us throughout the journey. My 50th celebration to the Galapagos was truly a trip of a lifetime...thank you Dante and everyone we met!!!Written 20 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
