- ViatgesrjrMayaguez, Puerto Rico1,192 contributionsThis building was originally a convent, and now has the peacefulness from its earlier days. It now houses administrative offices of the University of Cartagena and is also dedicated to the Gabriel García Márquez. You will definitely encounter this building when walking through Cartagena.
Only the first floor is open for tourists.Written 3 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Founded apparently in early 1920s and still used, it is the most crammed packed cemetery I've seen anywhere, learning environment for modern Colombia culture, including above ground walls of small square remembrances for cremated loved ones you can't even squeeze into the slits. Unexpected sights including human bones shoved back into a crypt. In serious disrepair here and there, but active work in repair other places even the day I strolled the grounds. For those who like interesting cemeteries this is a not to miss opportunity, easy to find by walking or just ask a taxi driver.Written 5 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
