Spent a good two hours for a short trip in Jiaoshan. Great experience for those who are interested in Chinese history, culture or caligraphy.

The temple is very impressive, but the park has declined and is in need of attention and maintenance.

I travelled to Zhenjiang by myself just after I visited Yangzhou.Zhenjiang is a small city but very clean and cozy.I took the bus to Jinshan temple.I can not remember how much the entry fee is.The temple is very beautiful and should keep quiet when visit the temple.I took some steps and to the high position to take a nice view. There is a nice lake just next to the temple. You can rent a mini ship and cruise on the lake.Everything looks great.

"Walking towards the south of downtown in Zhenjiang, a fairy park gonna appear right front your eyes".My chinese friend Steve told me."So why people call it Forest Park" ? "Oh, mainly because various types of trees take over the land ". Steve distained for my question. Nanshan Scenic Reosrt is indeed a fresh and clean cite. U may see many weird moutains surrounded, green trees glooming and all kinds of birds and fowls. After been through six dynasties, ancient scholars chose to live there and left precious articles and archaeologies for the next generations. A famous artist Mifu named the place "A city of moutains and forests ". That's why the scenic reosrt is like a picture. U will never feel its charm till u find it.

The park is pretty average for China- lots of green and some old walls for defending the area. Note that it's a pretty far climb up and there are significant areas without shade. The signs are in English but not well-translated. However, once you get to the very top tower, there's an absolutely incredible view of Zhenjiang from one side, and on the other, of the Yangtze and across to Yangzhou. Would recommend for that view.

I enjoyed the peaceful setting of this temple, including the chirping birds, ducks, fish and turtles. There was a service taking place and the chanting added to the atmosphere. It was easy to forget I was in the middle of a tourist site.

This museum is small. It doesn't take so long to see everything. Almost everything has an English translation. Quiet and warm.

It was interesting to visit the former residence of Pearl Buck during her years in Zhenjiang.

The home has charm. Exhibits were able to be seen as you could walk into rooms.

We arrived as it closed for lunch (12 to 1:30) so we had lunch nearby and returned.

The home is set in the lovely grounds of the park with the museum next door.

There is no fee, just a registration book.

Ganlu Temple is located on Beigu Mountain next to Beigushan Park. It is a very nice temple within a beautiful historic area where there are many things to see in addition to the temple.

I did not get to spend much time here, but I found it to be a lovely little place to walkabout. At the top of the park is a kids park with some old electric rides in a carnival like setting. However the environment is quite dilapidated and desperately in need of maintenance. Nonetheless, many families are there having a good time and the games are enjoyable for the children. You can shoot balloons and fish small catfish in a pond. The main entrance to the park is located in "old town". It's a beautiful part of town that offers a lot of nice places to walk and see. There are many wonderful photo ops in and around the park, but overall, if your time in Zhengjiang is limited, there are better places to go.
