What travellers are saying
- Nick WDunbar, UK153 contributionsA fascinating, informative and very well presented session and a worthwhile cause to support. Absolutely first rate.Written 13 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Malcolm PReading, UK153 contributionsThe museum is very sobering to visit. It brings home the horror and stupidity of war. Even today people are being maimed decades on since there are still 2.5 mines for every person in Cambodia.Written 6 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Prince PIsfahan, Iran31 contributionsThe Siem Reap National Museum is a hidden gem! Its stunning exhibits and knowledgeable staff offer a deep dive into Cambodian heritage. A must-visit!Written 14 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- runner24Orlando, FL2,295 contributionsOur hotel was within walking distance of the Old Market and Pub Street so we wandered over a few times in the morning before touring or later in the day after. Many good vendors. T-shirts, food vendors, trinkets all mixed with the local culture. A visual treat for the eyes.
We recommend.Written 29 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Great story about the owner/artist who has pulled together the items around the gallery plus lots of his artwork on display. There is a shop where you can buy items displayed around but we thought they were expensive. We thought there was a cafe here but unfortunately there isn’t one. Well worth a visit whilst in semi reap but a little difficult getting a tuk tuk back.Written 18 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jbg74Saint Paul, MN1,194 contributionsThis is a typical Asian market which is also partially touristy. There is plenty of meat, fruits, nuts, and other stuff for sale for locals along with stalls selling souvenirs. If you haven't been to an Asian market before, you should visit. This is definitely nothing like a western supermarket.Written 11 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - HCM93Perth, Australia91 contributionsHad a fantastic evening of traditional dance entertainment and excellent food. We sat up in the balcony overlooking the audience below with great views to the stage. The food was first class. A wonderful evening of culture and eating. Very well worth while.Written 21 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- mikecIndonesia5 contributionsSuch an amazing experience. Get your camera out and get ready to be transported into 3D worlds where you become part of the scene. Suddenly your in a Roman chariot, then a Gondola in Venice , next your walking across deep ravines on a narrow rickety foot bridge or surfing the barrel of wave. To top it all off , there is also an immersive sound and light show. We had so much fun over the 90 minutes it took us . Pure fun and fantasy. We’re so glad we found The Art Box.Written 9 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- SillengtuktukSiem Reap, Cambodia22 contributionsA breathtaking blend of acrobatics, dance, and storytelling. Phare combines traditional Cambodian themes with modern circus artistry. Prepare to be wowed by the skill and artistry of these young performers.Written 22 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Raymond TSydney, Australia6 contributionsThis is a must visit destination if you travel to Siem Reap. Suggest you get a tuk tuk from town (not too far away but you don't want to walk in the high heat and humidity) and have them wait for you while you explore as it's not a large place.
The venue has a workshop and a gallery. A lady named Sina spoke perfect English and walked me through the workshop and the process they undergo, including the lacquerware and how they make some of the art pieces, including the one I eventually ordered.
I fell in love with a particular piece with silver leaf lotus flowers but it was mounted on wood (ie high freight costs and custom issues) and didn't have fish. Sina indicated that they could custom make something for me, put it on canvas, and add koi that I wanted (rather than the catfish they usually have). I prepaid including freight cost, which was very reasonable given it was made to order. Sina also sent me a picture of different koi via Whatsapp for me to choose which ones I wanted.
The canvas arrived professional packaged so it wouldn't be damaged in transit. I had it stretched and mounted on a floating frame (attached) at 176x93cm.
I highly recommend this place and to take home (or order) a high quality piece of art work at a reasonable price and support the local community.Written 23 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Quiet and pretty, this little neighbourhood is worth discovering if you are interested in galleries, quality crafts and intimate little businesses. Central in the city it’s a short walk or tuk tuk away from the frenetic market buz. Opens at 10 am but shops maybe later.Written 8 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- David DDevon, UK29,009 contributionsThis small ceramic shop is situated in the attractive narrow and quirky street, Alley West, in the heart of downtown Siem Reap.
The front of the building has quaint blue shutters on the windows and door and distressed brickwork on the outside was rather eye catching.
Sunday 10th January, we were exploring Siem Reap, we discovered this shop and we had a walk about , there were some wonderful pieces of beautiful handmade pottery and ceramics on display along with other gift ideas.
A charming little shop definitely worth a visit.Written 25 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The work New Hope does looks like it really helps the community and assists students with their education and many more things. I hope they can continue their good work.Written 13 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- PowerABAAdelaide, Australia2 contributionsHaving lived in several South East Asian countries including some 3 years in "Khmerland", I was fortunate to visit both DIWO Galleries and meet the owner Ms. Sokha Chung. I found the courtesy extended to me by this lady to be exemplary to say the least. Her knowledge of the Khmer history and culture was superb. Most professional and ethical in her representations and dealings.. Of course, some of the items/merchandise - to some - maybe "pricey"... but good unique things are well worth buying. And if I were allowed I would have also "taken" the centrepiece ~ Ms. Sokha Chung ~ if she was available...unfortunately not so!Written 13 June 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - WanderlustaustraliaSydney, Australia209 contributionsThe workshop/gallery is set in a lovely building with luscious greenery surrounding it.
The artwork is truly beautiful, and the prices fantastic. They wrap your pieces up very carefully so they can be protected in your suitcase.
The staff are friendly and obviously very passionate about their work.
Highly recommend visiting here for a truly Cambodian piece of art.Written 6 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
