- GraceTangHong Kong, China29 contributionsWe had a private tour with our guide Mr Lee Silong for 4 days around Phnom Penh. Silong is excellent and knowledgeable! We learnt a lot on Khmer history from Khmer ancient dynasties to Khmer Rouge era during sightseeing. Silong is very helpful in our whole tour. We are well taken care during such hot weather.
Big thanks for our wonderful experience in Cambodia!
Highly recommend to support local tour guides because it is the best way to benefit local people and local economy!Written 25 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. He also had good knowledge of local tourist attractions e.g. Angkor Wat complex and made our trip memorable. I would recommend Mike to everyone who would like to explore Siam Reap and the local area.Written 12 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EricaNew York City, NY3 contributionsMy husband and I booked Sophea for a two day private tour while on our honeymoon. This was our first time visiting Cambodia.
On the first day, Sophea and a driver picked us up in our hotel lobby and advised us as to what clothes to wear. He then helped us to purchase tickets for the temples. Sophea spoke beautiful English and gave us a fantastic tour of multiple temples. He then took us to a local restaurant to have lunch, sharing information about local foods. We saw four different temples.
On the second day Sophea arranged for us to have a private boat ride to see the floating village. He arranged for us to chat with local fisherman and spoke about the culture of this village. We then got to walk around the village and speak with the locals. Lastly, he arranged for us to be blessed by a monk during a ceremony since we just got married. We then saw another temple before heading back to the hotel.
Sophea is extremely educated about his country and the temples and he was more than willing to answer our many questions. He was super friendly, and we appreciated the fact we had to do little research before our vacation. Sophea continuously went above and beyond and helped us navigate everything from purchasing souvenirs, to hiring a tuk tuk, and selecting a place for dinner on pub street. We learned so much about Cambodia, and would highly recommend him for anyone that is visiting this country! Great for something who is interested in a local perspective and doesn’t want to worry about making any plans or worrying about safety.Written 24 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
