Alserkal Avenue is a hip enclosed area in Al Quoz. There are a lot of great independent businesses, including fitness centres, food and beverage outlets, cinemas, galleries and more.

There is very limited traffic and lovely open areas to sit and take the world in. Plenty of parking is available outside the perimeter.

There are also regular pop up events and a recurring farmer’s market on Sundays.

Good place, barely anybody in there, so you can have it all to yourself. The exhibit contains some very interesting personal objects of important Emirati women, lots of info about women's role in the UAE. The second floor has walls filled with poems (amazing!). The place has great energy. The lady at the entrance is also a great guide and she can answer many questions.

Located in the Bastakiya area, this gallery is delightful both in the art it houses and the vibe. One steps into a courtyard surrounded by art and an incredibly charming studio space. The gallery owner was friendly and happy to share information on the art on show.

Took my Mum and Uncle who are visiting me here today as my Mum asked to go to an art gallery. I said we don’t really have them here in Dubai but I was wrong! After a bit of online searching Pro Art stood out as worth a visit. It is a large gallery bursting with amazing pieces including Damien Hirst, Andy Warhol, Dali and Picasso. We were given a tour by a lovely gentleman who knew the story of every piece and really brought our experience to life. Highly recommended!

I love ! this place. If you are even a little bit into art somehow or just a curious person, you should visit Abdakulova art gallery, located in DIFC area. Amazing collection of art pieces from Central Asia, which can be purchased there.Perfect location, not overcrowded, so u can enjoy your time.Very friendly and welcoming staff, who can consult on any artwork. The gallery has a strong permanent collection of contemporary visual arts. Definitely worth your time)

MRK Contemporary Art Gallery has easy access from Shiekh Zayed Road, opposite Burj Khalifa and Al Wasl Road City Walk. The gallery has diverse styles from affordable to extreme high end private viewing highest quality of artworks by celebrity Emirati and International Eurabian artists. Even if you are not going to buy, I strongly recommend you visit to get a feel-good factor. The Gallery makes you feel fresh and elevates your spirit. You would also learn about the culture and traditions of United Arab Emirates. I would give five stars to the Gallery.

Many of us know nothing about good art, but a nice way to start learning is by viewing and appreciating truly great art.

I stumbled upon Dubai's new Sovereign art gallery, and was pleasantly stunned to see some of the world's best known Indian masterpieces on show. Even plebian tastes can appreciate the pioneers of Modern Indian art - MF Husain, VS Gaitonde, SH Raza and the like.

You will get a bonus if the curator is in residence at this gallery. He is knowledgeable, jovial, gracious, and very generous with his time if you are asking questions (I confess I had several dozen questions).

Drop in, look around, study the works on the walls, and enjoy a wonderful conversation. You will leave knowing more about art than you have ever done. Highly recommended for singles, couples and art enthusiasts, and of course, for collectors.

The gallery is a a bit out of the way near the camel market but well worth the trip. We visited the 'mind the gap' exhibition which features local artists. Imho true culture is difficult to find in Dubai and this is a great place to find a very welcome art space

This is a little gem, and Dubai's first and only Improv' Theatre.

We found them on facebook, and thought we'll go and investigate.
What a surprise it was...when you enter it feels like you stepped into a historic little theater maybe somewhere in London. They even have a narrow little staircase going up to the seating.

The theater itself is quite small, but this made it more intimate and cozy. The seating was comfortable and there was a nice atmosphere. They also have a snack counter where you can buy popcorn, sweets and softdrinks before and during the interval of the performance.

The performance itself was very enjoyable, and we were not disappointed. They have different shows that run most of the evenings so have a look at their website for more detail.

Overall we felt everything was professionally run by very friendly welcoming staff, and we will definitely return.
