There were ALOT of people lining the sides of the walkways and over the bridge. Our taxi was delayed so we arrived there later than planned and had to try to squeeze in to find a spot where we could view the display.
It is similar to the fountains at the Bellagio in Vegas. Nice to see but to be honest not a must do. I guess as a free thing in Dubai it is worth it to brave the crowds.
If this is something you are really interested in seeing, then probably best to find a table for dinner at one of the various restaurants that surround the fountain area. This way you could be comfortable and enjoying the viewing. We were 10 mins down the road at a hotel so got a taxi there and back.
