What travellers are saying
- Carolyn P1 contributionHighly recommended a visit to this site. Their motto is open doors, open minds. Everyone there was very welcoming and gracious. I learnt a lot about the Islamic faith from the cultural teacher, who welcomed questions during the tour. If you don't have appropriately modest clothing don't worry, they have headscarves and robes to lend you as needed. A great cultural experience.Written 27 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Gurjit B1 contributionWell worth the drive outside the city. Serenity and beauty are encountered here. Won’t be disappointed. Beautiful structureWritten 3 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- alshafiarahmanManchester, UK7 contributionsLarge mosque and tends to get very busy on Fridays so best to arrive early to get a seat inside in the air con. Sounds obvious but be aware that Friday prayer times are different to normal Duhr prayer times. Hotel staff will unlikely know that if you ask them and may just give you the duhr time from Google. Currently Friday prayer/khutbah starts at 1:15. Advisable to be there from 12:45Written 27 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. To be told of the tolerance is one thing but to see tolerance in the reality of hundreds of devotees gathering to worship demonstrates true acceptance of others and their beliefs.Written 17 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - avorajeeRiyadh, Saudi Arabia374 contributionsWhat an amazing Masjid, Subhanallah.
We went in a Friday for Jumu'ah prayers.
Easy access, ample parking, really friendly congregation, wonderful environment, and the recitation.. the qira'at.... incredible.
There's also a separate ladies prayer area within the Masjid.
Truly recommended... in fact can't recommend enough.Written 10 October 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - California_momofsixFairfield1,084 contributionsHindi Lane can be found behind the large Bur Dubai Mosque, between the Hindu temple and the creek.
I was conflicted about coming here, previous reviews about pushy sales people almost put me off but one of my travel guides highly recommended it as a hidden gem. My experience wasn't traumatic like that of others, but I can't recommend it either.
Visiting during Covid, the lane was very quiet and some stores were closed. We saw beautiful flower chains and religious items, but the area was much smaller than we expected and I didn't have the feeling of being transported to India. We were not approached by any shop owners, they were all sitting and looking at their phones (I am not sure if this was due to Covid or not, since sellers in other parts of the city were still very aggressive)
We did feel safe but wouldn't come back.Written 10 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Robert ORotterdam, The Netherlands3,652 contributionsSpecial about this mosque in Bur Dubai is, it is welcoming guests who want to know more about the core values of Islam. Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday morning they offer tours (free of charge).
The architecture of the mosque is rather conventional. The present building is a 1998 replica of a 1960s mosque. Remarkable is the 70m tall minaret.Written 17 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
