I am a solo traveler and I felt very safe during the entire trip. The boat ride was absolutely breath taking. Each island was insanely beautiful and I felt like we spent enough time at each location. The fruit and lunch options were great. All the other travelers in my group were super friendly. I do not speak any Spanish and our tour guide did speak English, some of the other travelers also helped translate when needed. I loved the hammocks on the 2nd island and loved the stop to explore all of the star fish!

If you want something other than, water, beer, or juice, you will need to bring it. Also bring a towel!
The waterfall hike is a bit of a hike so you should be prepared for round trip 5 hours with mud and water.

- Kim1237 contributionsThis was a true Panamanian adventure!! Our guide Sorhay picked us up and took us on an adventure we will never forget! We were a family of 6 (our youngest is 20) with little to no ATV experience, but we are athletic and pretty fearless. I would not recommend this for young ones. This was an adrenaline packed no messing around 4 1/2 hours of mountain and rock climbing, river riding, jungle cutting ATV’ing. This is not for the weak, but if you are up for a good time I highly recommend because its like nothing you will ever experience. Sorhay was Amazing, she made sure we had a good time. We stopped on our way to our location for some Panamanian local produce and snacks. - Matt from La Mesa6 contributionsOur party of six booked a private one-day tour and had an excellent experience. Because it was just us, we had some say in which islands to visit and how long to spend. These guys were very accommodating and made it a very personal experience. Because our main interest was snorkeling, they took us to specifically great spots.
We saw plenty of other tour boats that were group tours and we felt a little sorry for them... too crowded, and probably no "customization".
We could not have asked for more, and if/when we visit again, we will try to book with them.
Prep Notes:
1. The description here currently says that prices start at $165 per person, but we paid less than that for our *private* tour, so please reach out directly to the company to get your own quote. They are very responsive via WhatsApp, but email worked also.
2. The road trip is not as bad as some people say, just go with poor expectations and it will be OK! :-)
3. There are restrooms available at the boat launch site, but they are not free. Some of our party used them as changing rooms instead of dressing in swim suits at the hotel.

Not much to do on the Island except swimming, reading and playing games. It was a very very bumpy ride to the port. We got very delayed because of a storm which is fair, but no one told us anything about it so we just sat in the car and waited for 40 minutes. We then got to the Island and found out that water was not included in the price and we didn't know we had to bring our own water... So we had to pay 2USD $ for 0,5L bottle of water... For two people we ended up buying 10 bottles... The food was mediocre with little variety (rice, fried fish or chicken and some Vegetables) which wasn't great for Vegetarians... We met some lovely people on our trip and talked for hours after dinner and watched a storm in the distance with a lot of lighting. We did the San Blas Tour and it was 100% worth the money.. they were really good at communication, we had a great driver, very nice and professional.

Just for your knowledge: we got picked up at our hotel at 5:00am and then went to pick up more passengers. Our driver Rey was super nice. When we headed towards the island the drive is long so we stopped midway at a gas station. Not much of a selection so I would suggest to take snacks. This is were the winding road begins. So many potholes and bumps! I’m not prone to motion sickness, but did get dizzy at a point. The road does take a while to get through. Once you get to the meeting point and get to the boats that will take you to the island. Be prepared to get wet! Our Captain, Charlie was awesome and we all had a blast! The best tour we had in Panama. We all had an amazing time because of the crew. - CLG4 contributionsGoing through the Bayano Caves was an amazing experience. Our guide was delightful, he arrived on time, was very knowledgable, and even pulled over once so we could look at some monkeys in a tree. This tour stopped at a wonderful family cabin where we left some of our things while in the cave and have a wonderful fish lunch after. The cave itself was really interesting and beautiful, though nowhere is more beautiful than the canyon on the other side. Nobody else was signed up for the tour yesterday, so it ended up being a private tour for my husband and I, which was really nice.
Note - this tour is not for everyone. It requires a fair bit of physical fitness and a little bravery. You need to be able to navigate over invisible rocks underwater, do a small amount of rock climbing, and you may have to swim a bit. - Amy from California1 contributionWe actually enjoyed our stay in San Blas, but nothing was as listed when we booked. Rather than going to Aguja, we were dropped at an island called Icodub. There was no snorkeling on the way to the island either. Actually, the next day, I was told that they were waiting for us to go snorkeling, but no one explained the change.
When you arrive at the boat launch, along with dozens of others, it is like a cattle call. You are simply told to wait in a certain spot, which boat to get on when, and when to get off. From the minute I saw him waiting, on time for me, with a sign, and my name spelled correctly I thought to myself this is going to be a good experience. I was quickly taken directly to the Panama Canal for my first visit. He explained everything and has a vast knowledge. Our entire four day trip was handled by him from transportation, reservations for dinner, ordering our Choco Pies for pick up, finding the best rum bars, and buying the best coffee sold on Earth. Ever detail was handled. His English is fantastic and we never had a communication problem on our journeys. His demeanor is so professional we demanded he dine with us every meal. He also has excellent taste in restaurants and knew what to order. If you're a foodie then ask him about his food tour. He also arranged a yacht for an afternoon on short notice. He knows everybody. Panama is an amazing place with amazing people. I loved it so much I'm seeking my citizenship and he's even helping me gain it. He knows it all and is a true professional.
