What travellers are saying
- Paul BExeter, UK77 contributionsWith Moldova apparently being the poorest country in Europe it was a bit unexpected to find this symbol of the good life. I guess it's not visited by many Moldovans; mainly foreign tourists (of whom there are not that many). I suspect that the tours are a minor part of the business and most of it is distribution of the wine globally. The scale of the "underground city" was impressive as was the the food and drink at the end of tour tasting.Written 7 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Simone CChisinau, Moldova3 contributionsThis is definitely our favourite park to go to and transition into a whole other world. Me and my fiancee visit it as much as we can. Also, the fact that it has a lot (and I mean A LOT) of open places where you can have a picnic or play some badminton, for example, makes it one of the best (if not the best) parks in Chisinau.
Also, what we really love is that bicycles, scooters, etc. are not allowed as it makes the experience of spending leisure time there just perfect, as this is a problem we encounter in the other parks where you have to always be very attentive and avoid everyone who simply do not respect the bicycle lane, which also makes it dangerous for little kids.
Dendrarium is also very clean and the range of incredible plants is truly impressive.
In short, I would truly say it might be the perfect park.Written 28 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Haytham Abu FirasQatar21,204 contributions15 century fortress on the right bank of Dniester river. It’s also called Tighina Fortress. Located in Bender Moldova. A must visit while in there. Has to get English translator as per the instruction of the administration. Paid 250 lei entrance ticket. The guide gave me a great and excessive information about the fortress, history, renovation, Ottoman period, watch towers, gates and punishment halls.
Great details and amazing construction.
I love the small cannons around the fortified walls and a huge black iron ball.Written 21 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - david CAmposta, Spain19 contributionsThe Catedrala Nastera Domnului is a beautiful but quite small cathedral in the heart of Chisinau. From the outside the building is a typical Orthodox building with a dome and inside richly decorated with lavish gold icons and and figures. We went one evening and music was playing and many people were gathered for prayers. The atmosphere was wonderful. The following day around lunchtime while passing we saw a Moldovan wedding in progress with the doors open for anyone to view the proceedings. This cathedral the tower in front of it and the Triumphal Arch in fron of that are a centrepiece of the capital and are very photogenic and beautiful to behold. The whole area is kept immaculately clean and puts most other countries to shame. A lovely place to visit.Written 31 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- skinkFalls Church, VA670 contributionsThis is a huge local market right in downtown Chișinău. The main features seem to be fruits and vegetables and a large section with clothing. There are also numerous vendors with kitchen and other household supplies, food vendors, a watch repair stall at the entrance and probably just about anything else you could want. It gets very crowded so go early.Written 27 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

A city far from the capital Chișinău about an hour drive 55 km worth a visit but be prepared for a good walk. Orheiul Vechi is a monastery at the top of the hill.
