    Fabulous place to eat and drink and a selection of other stalls selling the tourist stuff. Lots of about the place and so many smells to tempt you

    Very pleasant shopping mall
    We were in Pocitos beach and came here to do some shopping and to have lunch. We spent a couple of hours and had good time. There are many European stories, but some local ones as well.

    huge Sunday flea market
    East of downtown, the city closes off dozens of streets, to allow many hundreds of street vendors, selling both new and used merchandise, as well as food. Much of the sites have old stuff.

    The central bus station
    The place to be if you want to travel. An impressive frontage with a huge statue of someone on a horse outside. Regular ferry to Buenos Aires

    NIce remodelling of this market
    Very modern food and handcrafts Uruguayan new place for eating drinking and buying typical local sourvenirs, above the "Mercado de los Artesanos"!
    Delicious uruguayan parrilla, détox juices, mexican takos, handcraft beer, highly recommendable to take your foreign guests!
    My advise would be to take care of sanitary ítems in the whole place!

    Go early on a Tuesday
    Several websites said it was open until 4:00pm, but everything was closing by 2:00pm when we went on a Tuesday. Most of the clothing seemed to be the same things you would find in stores -- not handmade goods. Lots of vegetable stands on the other side of the park.

    Nice, interesting
    The place worth a stop because it has a nice and beautiful collection of photos. There is also a nice shop inside.

    The market is ok and for sure it makes this area a very crowded one, since at Sunday there is this thing.

    Huge mall
    One of the biggest shopping malls in the area the Punta Carretas mall is full of high end stores and everything else in between. There is also a huge grocery store called Fresh market and a food court. Very busy in the evenings and a good way to spend some time out of the sun.

    Excellent bookstore
    Located in quiet neighborhood, in a small townhouse, very nicely designed with several rooms. The choice of books is excellent, a lot of very interesting books. Mostly in Spanish with limited selection of English books.

    There is also a coffee shop within the house with a nice terrace, they have excellent products. A great place to spend some time with the books you bought in the store!

    I wish there were more bookstores like this in the world!!!!

    Small but cozy
    Good shopping centre with a supermarket within. It isn't too big but it looks good and it has a pretty good variety of shops.
    If you are around it is worth to stop by but don't get out of your way if you don't have much time to spend in Montevideo. Great place to buy the jerseys of the national football team and the city clubs.

    First class gallery with attentive director
    I visited the Espacio Arte Manfredi on December 23 after scheduling a gallery appointment with the director of the gallery, Gustavo Moreira Manfredi. Mr. Manfredi greeted me at the appointed time and dedicated his time to informing me of the various holdings within his gallery. Mr. Manfredi is a first-rate director and has strong customer service skills.

    For some one new to acquiring art, Mr. Manfredi put me at ease and addressed my questions thoroughly. I recommend paying a visit to this art gallery that appears to be off the beaten path (i.e., not located in ciudad vieja) but is truly worth a visit or two.
