*Likely to sell out: Based on Viator’s booking data and information from the provider from the past 30 days, it seems likely this experience will sell out through Viator, a Tripadvisor company.
The trip was perfect. Our guide Carlos was super kind and very well informed on the surroundings, teaching us about the plants and fruits and birds in the area. Overal an amazing experience I would recommend to everyone!
Fun trip, very interesting seeing all the carving in the rock. Only downside was our guide seemed to spend more time explaining the site in Spanish, so we seemed to miss out on some information. The walk through the rock canyon was cool but note if you have and difficulty climbing over rocks and up a steep hill at the end this may not be the tour for you. As it seems everywhere in Peru there is an extra charge on top of what you pay for the tour to enter these sites. Overall fun trip.
The best visit during my time in Arequipa was to visit Salinas, a charming place, far from the city, we were the first to arrive with the Arequipa Explorer agency to the place and we enjoyed the best landscapes, best shots and a very calm and cozy atmosphere , I recommend this company to visit the Salinas Reserve
I traded it to colca Canyon tour. We got to see the viewpoint over the city and 9 arches. First stop offers great Misti volcano overview. We liked our guide and small hike in the end. Guide asked questions and treated with candy for the right answers. The trip was shirt and sweet
This was a perfect one day tour. The tour guide was nice, talked in Spanish and English and explained everything what was important to know. On the 1 Day tour we just did a 1 hour hike. I wished it was longer but therefore is the 2-Day hike for.
Breakfast was included, which was small but it is better like that because of the high altitude its good not to eat too much. The lunch buffet which was optional had a lot to offer and was really tasty. We had a chance to go to the thermal baths and I recommend it to you. It was so relaxing ;)
What a great trip. Colca canyon is so beautiful. WE maybe didnt need a guide though it was nice that someone else did the planning. The informative portion of the guide was minimal. He was a lovely human and we enjoyed him. HE gave us a lot of space to hike on our own. We were also so glad we did the 2 nights. We had the time so we just had more time in each place in the bottom (san juan de chuccho and sagalle). Sagalle had some mean little biting bugs so bring bug spray and don't be out of the cold spring water with skin exposed!!
We had a great tour with Paolo! Paolo was very knowledgeable, had a great (fun) personality and was extremely passionate about making sure we learned all about the history of the region and specifically about Arequipa. We also stopped to enjoy traditional chocolates (so good), a pisco sour, “Chicha de jora” (the quintessential South American native corn beer) and salteñas.
My family and I were seven out of the nine people who took an overnight tour to Colca Canyon with Jessica as guide and Dilly as driver. Jessica was not only very knowledgeable about the remarkable canyon in the altiplano, she also clearly loved the area. She was probably the most enthusiastic among all of us when we were treated with the amazing sight of a group of young condors circling right over our heads! She was also kind, affectionate, and funny. Dilley is an extremely competent driver. Our trip included a stay in one of the most charming hotels I've ever been in.
I highly recommend this tour, which we arranged through Howlanders. (Be aware that it is NOT about trekking. In fact, we didn't walk much.) Howlanders is the first company I'll contact for future tours in South America. They contract with great local tour companies.
We basically had a private tour around Arequipa. We learned so much about the history and architecture of the city and Jose was a really friendly and knowledgeable guide. We had some delicious fruit, dessert and pisco. Would definitely recommend to anyone that has a free afternoon in Arequipa.
I had a great first rock climbing experience with Rojo. The whole organisation was so easy and it was no problem that I booked it very spontaneous the night before. Rojo picked up me and two other travelers that I told about and that spontaneously joined as well. They had all the equipment prepared and I felt really safe the whole time and loved the feeling of climbing and the great view! They even offered cookies to us to refill our burnt carbs. Very sweet and thoughtful. I had a great time and I loved that they took care of everything! Thanks!
