- Christofer Smith1 contributionWhat a wonderful experience! We booked the City Tour in Arequipa with Terra Quechua Peru after hearing excellent recommendations, and we were not disappointed. I traveled with my partner, and from the beginning, the organization was impeccable. The tour started at the Mirador de Yanahuara, with spectacular views of the volcanoes and the city. Then we visited the Santa Catalina Monastery, a place full of history, and the Plaza de Armas, with its impressive cathedral. Each stop was perfectly explained by our guide, who was always ready to answer our questions.
In the afternoon, we visited the Sabandía Mill, a charming corner surrounded by nature, and the Sillar Quarries, where we learned about Arequipa's famous white stone. We also had time to enjoy the delicious local gastronomy, highlighting the rocoto relleno (stuffed red pepper).
The experience was unforgettable, both for the beautiful scenery and the excellent service. We definitely recommend this tour to anyone who wants to discover Arequipa to the fullest, whether as a couple, with friends or family!Written 9 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We decided to do the tour to the Misti volcano in Arequipa with my friends, and it was an unforgettable experience. We loved that the agency took care of all the details: transportation, specialized guides and the necessary equipment for the hike. Also, the guides were super friendly and knowledgeable, which made the whole trip even more interesting and safe.
The tour was amazing from the start. We started early with comfortable transportation that took us to the starting point of the hike. During the ascent, we enjoyed spectacular views of Arequipa, the valley and the surrounding volcanoes. The breaks were well planned, allowing us to rest and take pictures. Upon reaching the summit, the feeling of accomplishment was indescribable! We were able to enjoy the unique scenery and learn more about the history and geography of the area from our guide. Definitely an experience I would recommend to anyone visiting Arequipa looking for something unique and challenging.Written 17 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tours are offered in alternating language.
Note: Actual mummy was recently removed to be better preserved, so a replica is now on display.
If you enjoy archaeology and history, museum is still interesting but if you are there to see the mummy, note the above.Written 11 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We contacted Terra Quechua Peru thanks to the recommendation of a family member who had already traveled with them, and we couldn't be more grateful for their suggestion. From the beginning, the service was impeccable: the team was friendly, punctual and helped us plan every detail of our visit.
We are a family who decided to explore the beautiful city of Arequipa together, and the city tour was simply perfect. We visited iconic places such as the Santa Catalina Monastery, the Plaza de Armas and the Mirador de Yanahuara, while our guide regaled us with interesting stories and cultural facts.
The transportation was very comfortable, and the timing was perfectly organized, allowing us to enjoy each place without rushing.
Thanks to Terra Quechua Peru for making our trip to Arequipa an unforgettable memory, we will definitely choose them again for our next adventures in Peru!Written 11 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jak1682024Arequipa, Peru1 contributionwe had a cool experience in the planetarium but unfortunately we were unlucky with the weather. the team easily postponed our stargazing to the next day where we could admire planets and stars. all team members were very knowledgeable and gave us some exciting information - overall a recommendable experience!Written 8 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KomatorBarcelona, Spain945 contributionsWe went to Reserva nacional de salinas y aguada blanca as part of a tour to the Cañón del Colca. The views are impressive: volcanoes, llamas and vicuñas... breathtaking.
Since we were doing a bus tour, we didn't really trek around the park, just small walks. But think about good trekking shoes if you're spending time there. And also, beware of the heights!Written 4 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This is a will explained and very logical tour to see the church , and museum attached. Highlight is a visit to the roof to physically touch and see the bells ( under supervision) in the rooftop bell tower. Great views of tge nearby mountain ranges as well. It is fascinating to see the decadence and treasure that the Catholic Church possesses - bit of a paradox reallyWritten 31 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RichardK938West Palm Beach, FL727 contributionsThis church has not 1 but 3 supremely ornate, classic Baroque altars. The detail in each of them is stunning. The church architecture is nice too but the altars are the highlights.Written 5 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - vpabloLima39 contributionsThe visit to this museum was one of the highlights of my trip to Arequipa. It has an amazing collection of paintings and objects in a series of large rooms surrounding the only cloister open to the public (there are three in all). Each room surrounding the cloister has a story to tell: one with a huge nativity scene in a box, another a room full of archangels. It was a joy to visit this monastery which is only a five-minute walk from the Church of San Francisco.Written 31 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
