- TheOExpress🏴🇭🇰Hong Kong, China6,088 contributions…gave me a pretty great view this Saturday during qualifying and I really enjoyed watching. Decent location not too far from any one point of the circuit, which is good too for the entertainment options.Written 23 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - WrissRDelft, The Netherlands11 contributionsi went there to watch WTA Finals. I got seats behind the baseline and it was perfect view to watch tennis. The place itself is clean, comfortable seats-little space for legroom, and the air conditioner worked perfecty it's so cold.. The snacks sold inside was way overpriced, so I went to the nearby convenience store besides the mall (yes there's a mall besides the stadium). It's easy to reach just use MRT along Circle Line and disembark at STADIUM station (CC6).Written 11 March 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ydumitraSingapore, Singapore2 contributionshuge crowd and long waiting time.It is not clearly written that the starting time for race depends which category you start from, so i arrived about a hour early.
After finishing the race we are immediately told to walk out.
The water points and directions however was clearly stated, road traffic control to guide us along the way was great. They had also arranged a few cheer squads such as the lion dance at the finish line.
Overall, was an okay experience, Personally I would sign up for smaller scale events in the future to avoid such a huge crowd.Written 4 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. In all, we loved it and will likely fly to another city to run another one. If you choose to participate, have a strategy. The checkpoints and locations require some strategizing before you start running randomly to checkpoints.
The pros: very fun way to run a 2 hour race. The checkpoints give you an opportunity to rest, then keep running. It was well organized and the checkpoints seemed well thought out. The organizers were among the crowd at the start/finish and engaged with the participants. We had a great time and it's a cool new use of technology.
Cons: The DJ played one or two songs that were definitely not fit for kids' ears. I would have been upset if I had young children with me. Question-based checkpoints required the correct answer to get the points. It was disappointing that small details like the number of doors on the firehouse were wrong in the answer choices. There were people confused and standing there waiting their running time trying to research the answer online because they counted 13 doors (the actual correct answer) and there was no choice for 13 on the app. Small issue, but after running all the way to a checkpoint and taking the time to get the right answer, to lose points due to this is maddening. Finally, each participant got a food voucher when they checked-in. Unfortunately, some unscrupulous vendors, like Sawadee Cup food truck, claimed they ran out of the "free food" which coincidentally consisted of fried popcorn chicken and fries (ummm....newsflash, runners usually eat healthy, especially after a race) which forced people who stood on the 45 minute food line to pay for expensive, underwhelming food choices. Luckily, the other two vendors there did not try to take advantage and scam participants in this way.
Background of the race- Each runner downloads the District app to their phone. On the day of the race, they run through virtual checkpoints to collect points and their name is listed on the overall leader board. Some checkpoints trigger merely based on the GPS location. Others, you might have to scan a picture on a building with your phone to show you're standing there. Some you have to answer a quiz question based on information you can find in the vicinity of the checkpoint. You can run as an individual or a team (up to 4 people).Written 21 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
