- Sarah CEast Kilbride, UK15 contributionsWe arranged a visit to the observation platform following a walk through gardens of the bay. Unfortunately we had just missed the light show. Tickets booked for 8.30pm arrived no queue and straight up in the lift . Timing was perfect as it was fairly quiet and we were able to walk around with no problem.
Managed to catch the later light show of gardens by the bay however the music did not travel and I do feel to get the best you need to be in the centre of it . Great views to put things in perspective. Unfortunately the roof bar is only open to residents of the hotel. It would have been nice to have lunch but guess you have to book separately. Our tour guide Aaron was very helpful and knowledgeable in explaining the history of the various sights. The sun was just setting and the skyline was starting to look wonderful with all the glittering lights of the skyscrapers. We were able to get some fantastic views of the iconic Marina Bay Sands hotel and the Art Science museum building from the river. We got to Merlion Park just in time to watch the light show at Marina Bay Sands. Then it was on to Gardens by the Bay to watch the amazing sound and light show at the Super Tree Grove. What is more evident now is the considerable emphasis placed upon animal welfare and conservation rather than exhibition. This means fewer animals, but what can be seen, in a well-considered habitat, enables visitors to view a number of well-kept animals as well as receiving excellent education about each.
