What travellers are saying
- Jonique LifeAustralia1,815 contributionsWe love this mall! It is huge with so many levels. The main eateries are on the top levels, there is too much to choose from so come here hungry. There are many other stores to enjoy if you want some retail therapy. We loved the design and how grand it was here. We ate at few cafes and bakeries here also, they were great! We only got here by walking here and we found the outside of the area to be quite busy.

The exhibits all have heaps of information in English and Bahasa (to access English, click on an animal and then change the language to English at the bottom and then when you go back to the main screen it'll all be in English). There were a huge variety of animals on display, and it was more interactive than most aquariums I've been to.
Book experiences early as I didn't realise they sell out and would have loved to pay to feed the capybaras or lemurs. We took around 2-3hrs to see it all, which was perfect because we got there for opening at 10am, bought a snack inside, and then got out in time for lunch in the mall food court upstairs.
My only criticism is that there was unnecessarily loud background music playing (it would have been nice to hear soft oceanic noises) and the microphone volume during the feedings/shows was so insanely loud for such a small space that kids had to cover their ears and we eventually just left early because it was so painful.Written 8 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lucky to have prayed Dhuhr in Jamaat in there. Great facilities inside, and clean. Lots of small stalls outside of the masjid selling snacks, drinks, souvenirs etc.Written 17 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Claudya AJakarta, Indonesia29 contributionsIt's only an hour away by boat from Jakarta. You can do snorkel and diving, though the water is pretty muddy and water isn't very clear. Still it's good if you want to get some sea without going too far from the capital.Written 3 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RifqiMalang, Indonesia5 contributionsKota Tua Jakarta displays several buildings that have existed since the Dutch colonial era, so they have certain characteristics that other buildings do not have. Tourists from various regions and even foreign tourists visit the Kota Tua Jakarta to take photos, ride bicycles and enjoy culinary delights typical of the city of Jakarta. However, during the day the weather is very hot so it is recommended to visit Kota Tua Jakarta in the morning or afternoon for a better experience.Written 16 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jonique LifeAustralia1,815 contributionsWe arrived to the Monas by walking here from our accommodation. We got here by 3pm during a week day and we were told that we could not go inside the monas due to it closing soon. It was still nice to see this huge tower from outside, it is surrounded by a big park area.

There is a lot to look at and learn about - and as a non-native speaker, I found the QR code on each exhibit very convenient to get the translation.
The cable car ride is a novel way to see the entire park and all the structures therein; however, it can get a little hot and sticky in there so if it's a hot day in general, perhaps save the ride for another day.
A lot of staff might not speak English, but they are very polite and helpful; and a bit of common sense also goes a long way.Written 5 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. My Grandfather and my Father have been going here for years. When I went there they were renovating the amusement park so some rides were closed, but overall I would recommend this place.Written 11 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - A RazBirmingham, UK435 contributionsAfter the fire a couple years ago that destroyed a section of the museum, it’s been significantly refurbished. Now the museum has been modernised, displaying various exhibitions of Indonesia’s history. Some parts of the museum are still under renovation. I think it will in a much better state in the next couple months.Written 18 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jonique LifeAustralia1,815 contributionsThis is a huge cathedral that you can visit inside during a weekday and they also have a museum here. It’s a great place to see the elaborate building. We enjoyed the museum which gave insight to the catherdral’s history. It is free to enter here also!

There are several 2 hour slots throughout the day. I went from 1 pm to 3 pm. Before entering you do need to scan a QR code that brings up a sign-up form. If there was an English version of the form, I never found it.
Instead I used the Indonesian form and Google translate to fill it out and be eligible to take the tour.Written 28 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Especially if you're looking for (unique/intersting) food. You can find food society, little tokyo, eat republic and many cafés here.Written 10 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
