- KrazzMelbourne, Australia213 contributionsThis is my second time visiting the Big Buddha. It's an easy ride on the MTR to Tung Chung and the famous cable car up to Ngong Ping where it is. The cable car was not running when we went so we took the bus. Do check this so that you can plan accordingly. The bus ride was also scenic as it goes through winding roads between the hills. There are a lot of steps to Big Buddha so take that into consideration also. It's very beautiful to see the big statue and views from the top. From there you can walk to Ngong Ping village for further souvenir shops and eateries. There are buses that leave from there if you wish to explore other parts of Lantau Island. Overall it's a great day out.Written 12 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TaherAlbaghliJulianKuwait City, Kuwait1,923 contributionsI am visiting Hong Kong and star ferry again after more than twenty years. In my opinion you must-do in Hong Kong! The iconic Star Ferry offers a quick, affordable, and scenic ride across the harbour. The views of the skyline and Victoria Harbour are simply stunning. I advice you go in night because the weather hot and humid in summer.Written 25 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KrazzMelbourne, Australia213 contributionsIf you like theme parks, I highly recommend this place. Easy to get to on the MTR. Do check which rides are closed as some are often closed for maintenance. Definitely take the cable car up to the upper section, it gives great views of the park, mountains and ocean. We got a quiet day so we got to go on all the rides with less queues. Also check the weather before going as it can rain one day and be sunny the next. Few restaurants available for dining near the entrance. Overall a lovely day out.Written 12 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Val D44 contributionsWe loved the Crystal Cabin and were lucky to travel on a clear, sunny day so we were able to see the scenery well and ride was fantastic and had lots of great views to photograph.
We just purchased tickets and went independently as none of the tours suited us. With the money we saved we took a cab to Chung Tung and it was absolutely worth it to drive over some of the lovely bridges between the islands.
We found the climb to Big Buddha pretty easy (we are fit seniors) especially as we went early to avoid the heat of the day. The temple and gardens were lovely and being early it was not crowded.
There were plenty of places to buy drinks and lunch.Written 1 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The gardens are so beautiful and well maintained. You can also walk across to the Nunnery which was very beautiful. There is a lake and small waterfalls which were also beautiful. It was a nice relaxing experience walking around the gardens.Written 13 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TaherAlbaghliJulianKuwait City, Kuwait1,923 contributionsThis area of the city has changed and become dirty and full of rats, grenades, and unpleasant odors. However, shops, kiosks and restaurants are still open. I advise you to avoid this place.Written 25 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jaa N5 contributionsLots of fun and easy to enjoy. The route is simple and crosses the island from east to west. Fixed price of 3 HK$ per ride is very affordable. Can pay into the cash box or use touch your credit card. Pay on exit.
The buses are more luxurious and air conditioned it the ding ding is a bit of history. I think they also same fare but I’m not sure.Written 10 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
