We had an incredible experience from the pick up at the hotel to the wall due to high traffic the trip took slightly longer but our driver even stopped to buy us some fruit and something to drink. When we got there everything was sorted and he made sure we knew exactly where to go. Honestly in a country where English isn’t spoken much it’s a breeze when your driver helps with everything you need. Would highly recommended this trip

Great experience - the tour operator Jenny was very helpful and communicative. Our driver Fred was a lovely chap and dropped us right in the heart of the city after the tour. Great wall was fantastic and quiet at our time of arrival. One thing to note - at the summer palace, there is a second ticket barrier before entering the big tower - make sure to arrive here before the afternoon ticket expires (3pm) or a second entry must be purchased.

Well, planned trip. The time on the Wall was enough to take excellent photos and enjoy the sights. Good feature is the organisers pick up from the hotel. The price is too high in my opinion. I think that tickets for a toboggan and cable railway should be included. The experience was amazing, but the additional costs were not. It was amazing to take part in the traditional ritual of tea making, and also see the craft jewellery-making process. I really recommend this trip.

Jason was a great guide, and the walk was well worth it! Went while it was very cold, but this meant the views were spectacular from the top! Going along the more abandoned parts of the wall was so much fun, and was a lot more unique and interesting than the restored parts. You do get to see the restored parts at the end of the walk as well.

We really loved this tour! We wanted to explore nature in China and we found this tour online. Longqing Gorge is such a beautiful place and definitely one of my favorite spots in Beijing. We went during a weekday so it was not crowded at all. We took a boat ride to see the beautiful scenery that China has to offer, and had some delicious lunch in a local restaurant. We also enjoyed the Ming Tombs and learned a lot about the history of China.

Our tour guide, Qiu Huanan (Anson) was so nice and funny. He gave us an introduction about the history of China and the Ming Dinasty. He took care of everything so we didn’t have to go through the stress of finding transportation or place to eat. We got picked up in our hotel and also dropped off after the tour.

If you want to explore nature in China and the countryside, I definitely recommend this tour! It is so underrated!

Thank you Jimmy for the most memorable experience we could have asked for!
The visit to the wall was incredible, but your service, smile and knowledge made it far and away the best money we have spent.
Jimmy was fantastic! From arriving punctually at our hotel, to making us feel comfortable, sourcing a vegan meal for us and providing such fascinating insight into both the history of the wall and Beijing in general. He was greatly knowledgeable on the best places for views and photographs as well.
If you are looking to visit the wall, make sure you book with Jimmy. It is worth every dollar spent.

It was our final trip on this journey to China and it was definitelly one of the best trips I ever had. Our tour guide Bob took us to a more rural area of the Great Wall to start our trip. We started at a little hiking village and went up the wall by a hiking path to arrive at a partially destroid part of the Great Wall - it was an impressive view and one to behold.
For the next hours we walked over this old part of the wall which was mostly bare of any other people; only ocotionally we met another pair hikers on our path. Further and further we went on top and and along the wall to finally make our way to the renovated part for our final descending to our pick-up spot.

For every view and and every questions we had, Bob had an interesting and informative answer; we enjoyed our time with him and learned a lot about Chinese history and culture.

Jerry, my tour guide, was absolutely amazing. He was full of knowledge, was so kind and very attentive. I had time restrictions for my tour, as I had a flight later in the afternoon, and he managed to show me so much- including the Forbidden City- both quickly but also diligently. He was also amazing at ensuring I got to the airport on time.
Thank you Jerry, I will be back!

I thought I booked a private hiking day tour; Simatai west to Jinshanling, with bottled water and an English speaking guide. We got none of the above. Essentially this is a private driver who takes you there, and then takes you for lunch when you are done and drops you back. Even that was a challenge as he turned up an hour late and did not speak a word of English - which is fine if that is not what it specifically advertises.

We were dropped to Jinshanling and had to figure out where to walk ourselves as the driver did not come with us and there was NO GUIDE. There is no Simatai west in sight, and of course no water as the driver did not accompany us! We were not given water in the car either. We were dropped to the wall then just had to figure out where to walk/go.

You are better off getting your own transport there and doing it yourself, because that is what I did, only I had to pay £271!!! Way overpriced and is not as advertised. The lunch provided was great - this was the only thing that was advertised that we actually got!!! HAAA! What a joke.

This kind of excursion cannot be done without a person knowing very well the itinerary and also the right persons. It was a great experience for me, I highly recommend.

The tour was fantastic and the guide very helpful and knowledgable both about the wall and the history of China. We left super early from the hotel but were treated to awesome pictures with just our group. We walked up but took the toboggan down which was also loads of fun.

Thanks to Catherine and Mister Lu to organise the transportation to the wall. The hike lasts about 3 hours, the view was stunning! I really recommend it if you go to Beijing !

Suzie was an excellent guide with great English language skills. Both the gorge and cave dwellings were beautiful and unique. The time of year for this day trip was excellent - not too hot, not too crowded (the first week of October is the very busy National Holiday in China - avoid sightseeing during this week). Also Suzie’s EV NIO car was super cool.

My husband and I had a wonderful time hiking the Great Wall with our guide Tim. The hike was beautiful and moderately challenging. I enjoyed experiencing both the ruins and the renovated sections of the wall. Hiking through ruins is a very unique experience. The slide down to the bottom was a great way to end our hike! Tim did a great job getting in touch with me before the trip, and our driver was excellent as well.
