Awesome - so impressive to see and go early to avoid the crowds. The walk is challenging at times but very worth it - breathtaking - absolutely loved it!!

If you're on a tight timeframe, the main temple structure is the only most notable thing within the grounds as other areas can be skipped. Most of the sites are covered with gardens so if you do have time on your hands you could easily spend hours here, ideal for picnics. There aren't many restaurants in the park but prices were reasonable. There's a connection to the metro on both the East and West gates, highly recommended, and no need to pre-book tickets nor use passport for entry.

Wow! What a park this is. The history is engaging and the nature is the beautiful. The flowers and small plants stand out especially. The grand finale at Jingshan park is the Birds Eye view of Beijing. On one side you can see the forbidden city and on the other you can see Beijing itself. It’s definitely worth the hike!

Beihai Park is a wonderful area to go for a stroll to get away from the crowds of the surrounding area. You can see some sights, like the 9-sided dragon and white pagoda, take a little boat out on the lake (which you are allowed to drive yourself), or just park up on a bench to people watch. There is something for everyone here

Houhai was probably the most touristy area we went to in Beijing. There are people trying to sell you bike rides, boat rides, food, and hand made goods. We went to see the traditional hutongs and try some street food. We did both, which were awesome, and the area was buzzing with people. We ended up stopping at a bar on the infamous Houhai bar street. There is dozens to choose from all with different themes, but they are EXPENSIVE. We paid £20 for one beer and one cocktail (which is more expensive than London). So I’d say pop into a bar or two for happy hour, but stay away during other times. It is worth walking through Houhai and the Back Lakes, indulge in some local delicacies and enjoy the view, but be prepared for the more modern tourist experience

I thought the whole place was ok really, the admission cost was very affordable - change from a tenner if you take the average family of four!

As zoos go, I have seen better, Berlin is probably the best, but also a lot lot worse - including in Britain! I certainly didn’t see any distressing sights, and I think people have to get off their high horse if you’ll excuse the pun…..

Let’s be clear, all any animal ever really does is eat, sleep, fight, defecate and copulate, so I would relate most of what people claim to have seen to those 5 natural behaviours - if an animal has a wound, chances are he started a fight with another of his species and lost, exactly what would also happen in the wild.

My only complaint is that the aquarium is so expensive compared to the zoo, but we did it and thought it was absolutely first class - especially the Jellyfish exhibits and the whale.

Overall impression: Good day out, very affordable. Would do it again in a year or so.

I did quite a bit of research and settled on visiting this section of the Great Wall and I'm so glad I did! It's a beautiful stretch that looks barely touched, with a raw sense of beauty with it. The walls are just ankle deep, and the hike up is really steep and uneven. It's not recommended for those with knee problems or mobility issues. It's high up with a view of mountains and small town in the backdrop. The stretch between 6th to 8th guard post are recommended for trail. Truly a beauty to behold.

I went there last year. If you are interested in history then it's a perfect place to visit. There are lots of things to see. They also provide audio guide. Metro station is just close to this place. I liked Old summer palace.

It’s a nice park with plenty of trails and temples to check out. It’s a 2500m hike to the top with nice views of the city and Summer Palace along the way. There is also a chair lift if you’re looking for an easier option.

It's located within the zoo, so you must first purchase zoo entrance tickets. Then separate entrance tickets at the aquarium.
There are lots of souvenirs, food, drinks, toilets here.
Pretty nice displays. There is a marine mammal show. I missed most of it, caught end. Looked entertaining. Go for this for sure.
    The fossils were neat.
Overall pretty clean but one word sums up the displays...overcrowded.

There’s no doubt that this place has seen better days, but the boat ride along the gorge and the hike up to the viewpoint definitely make it worth the trip from Beijing.

The day I went the dragon escalator was working. The cable car and toboggan was not going. It was raining, so that might of been a factor. There is also a place to bungee jump, it was only 260RMB if you are feeling brave. We had lunch just outside the main gate, it was delicious and cheap.

At the end of your tour of the Forbidden City, you come across this imperial garden with its plants and rock garden. We stopped here to rest our tired legs before we exited from the back of the Forbidden City.

Very beautiful well cultivated park. It doesn't really exhibit a forest feeling, but that of a qell manicured green resting place. It is very quiet, open and welcoming.

We got re-energized by exercising and having a jog in the park on this cool-weather, 12C, sunny October day.

We enjoyed viewing the flowers as they are blooming and the calm clear waters of the lake. Not crowded during our weekend visit. Over 8,000 different tropical and subtropical plants and flowers. Lots of trails for walking and hiking.
