No trip to China without a trip to the Great Wall of China! Full of history! Taking the cable chair ride up and sliding down the mountain, the view is breathtaking from above. Amazing Experience with the Mutianyu Great Wall.

The city is beautiful and HUGE. Particularly it’s a must do for Beijing but I advise to not try to explore every inch because not only will take a whole day but will get very repetitive very fast as the attraction has not a lot of content inside.

A great place to visit if you want to get a glimpse of some nature as well as Chinese buildings at the same time. Can easily spend four or even more hours depending on how much you want to take in the atmosphere.

The temple is amazing to visit. The buildings are beautiful and the story behind it is very interesting. The architectural designs are truly remarkable.
However, I would advise not to go during the Chinese holidays as the crowd will literally crush you.
I would also advise not to take the audio guide on site, I paid 40¥ and it was disconnecting all the time (and I could not rewind) so I missed a lot of the explanations. I did not detect well my location so sometimes I would not get any explanation at all. It made this experience a bit frustrating but at least the temple's beauty made up for it.

    Absolutely breathtaking!!!
If you visit Beijing this is a must see without a doubt.
It takes around 2 hours by car from Beijing but it's like nothing else you will ever experience again.
One of the 7 Wonders of the World.
Building started in the 9th century BC right up to the 19th century & stretches over 4163 miles.
I must say it's not for people with trouble walking as there is so much involved including steps & steep slopes from tower to tower.
We visited in early may & it was very hot & humid.
The views are out of this world but worth every penny of the hard work getting those Glutes working.
It was very busy when we visited but we were told it is like that all the time so there is no specific day that is better to visit.
There is so much history here, such a beautiful place.
Tickets are a few pounds & worth every penny.
    Best experience ever!!

We visited Jingshan Park on a Sunday afternoon, and walk up towards the highest pavilion. Could be because it was a Sunday but it was extremely crowded as everyone was jostling to snap a photo of the Forbidden City across the road. What is interesting is that the hill is artificially created. The hill was constructed during Ming dynasty from the soil excavated when constructing the moats of the Imperial Palace and nearby canals. The soil was moved across and that was how the hill was formed.

We had a nice walk in the park and had very nice views awhile walking up the hill. Do think about transport too, as it was difficult to hail a taxi or get a ride through Didi while we were there. Do time this visit if you intend to visit the Forbidden City.

Amazing Park in the middle of Beijing.
Entrance fee 10 Yuan. Scenic spot for photos and a nice walk by the lake. Next to Jinghai park.

We managed to book reservations for the flag raising ceremony at Tiananmen Square at 6.27am so we have to leave the hotel at 5.50am to make our way there. The walk in -3 degrees in the wee hours on a Thursday December morning was not that far from our hotel, but subject to a few security checks (IDs and bags) along the way. The wait was long and the flag raising did not start until 7.25am, so we had waited for slightly more than an hour.

The contingent marched from building and across the road, where traffic was stopped a few minutes earlier. Once ready, the national anthem was played and the flag was raised, all within minutes. While there were a few foreigners, most were locals and many were elders who make the trip and wait to witness the ceremony. The patriotism is commendable. After the flag raiding ceremony, we proceeded to explore Tiananmen Square. Definitely an experience for those who visit Beijing but do note that online reservation is required.

Wangfujing Pedestrian Street is a street lined with all the big brands and various malls, with many eateries, coffee stores and restaurants within the malls. One of the mall has a supermarket in the basement, something hard to find in the Wangfujing area. Definitely a nice place to take a stroll and when you intend to do some shopping.

Definitely worth it if you're interested in contemporary art. Many galleries you can stroll through; most are free but a few charge an entrance fee. There are numerous small restaurants and coffee shops in the area.

The place was magical! The weather was perfect for our climb. Our tour took us by bus to the car park, we walked to the stairs for the start of the climb.
It is steep, and there are not a lot of landings!
There is irregular distribution of bricks which may be either one layer or two to make the stairs.

What a fantastic day! Going to the Great Wall is a once in a lifetime experience! Christina, our guide, explained everything very well and made sure we had all the relevant information. Highly recommend this tour by Klook. All include picking up from the hotel and Chinese halal hotpot lunch.

What a great place to visit

I booked a ticket to watch Chinese opera and I was really surprised by the size of thos venue. It's huge, modern, very well organized with some great staff working around. Also the security guards inside the venue looked so amazingly weird 😁

A must visit location for anyone interested in history and know of the iconic scene with the citizen and the tank, standing here seems to put the scale in to perspective, if the eyes of the world weren’t watching it would have been very different. Make sure you have booked your ticket online, or have a guide do it, and take your passport, otherwise you’re not getting through anywhere. You can view all of the outer area but that’s about it.

This section of the Great Wall is probably the EASIEST I have been so far.
I did Mutianyu just last October, ie about 8 months ago.
There were lots of towers to climb.
Here, I met only 1 and reached the top of the Great Wall for this section.
But this is beautiful as it has the lake with it.

You don't need any tour guide for this.
The tour guides can't help you scale the Great Wall.
