Planted discreetly in the middle of the hutong lanes, about 200m west of Nanluguoxiang walking street. Yes it’s a trick to find, but if you stumble on it, wow. So worth it. Quiet and dusty charm with all their great local beers. Sit and recharge yourself watching alley cats sunning themselves on the old hutong house tiles. With 3 joined lakes and pleasant surrounds plus lots of bars, restaurants, takeaway, souvenir shops and a historic section it covers all bases! Lots of signs saying no swimming allowed but that didn't seem to stop the local swim club? Very picturesque location and very popular on our visit. - Qrys DSan Jose, CA1 contributionStumbled (quite literally) across this bar during a night of revelry, wandering the hutongs. The drinks were delicious, and the bartender was super friendly. We closed it down that night! And returned (pre covid) to Beijing a year later and this was our only must-repeat establishment. I can't recall the name of my favorite beverage, but it's the one with a passion fruit filled with rosemary that they light on fire. - MRWashington DC, DC239 contributionsFound myself looking for somewhere to have a drink and take in some entertainment - found vics by chance ( hard to miss) and it was free so went in. Good music, nice cold beer and good crowd. This was midweek weds. I have read some other reviews that were not so great, maybe that applies to a weekend crowd? It wound down about 3am as you'd expect for mid week. I'd go back.

We went for a metal cover night and the Chinese bands absolutely smashed Iron Maiden, Nirvana, Rammstein and many more, with some crazy mosh pits and headbanging. It was definitely on par with if not better than being in the London metal scene. I highly recommend going here for any of their rock/metal/punk nights; there's cheap beer and plenty of cool and friendly music lovers to hang out with. Laid out over two floors, the top floor is a collection of private ‘partying’ cubicles as well as the all-famous Karaoke rooms (complete with escorts). The ground floor is one gigantic dance floor. Music is excellent. This is a must visit venue for the first timer (or regular visitor) to Beijing. Highly recommended.

Having said that the sound system could use an upgrade. More, the absence of any form of club lighting makes the dance floor pitch black. Some acts might bring some stuff of their own, like black lights for raver genres, but others are really left working their crowd without any visual momentum. Mixed drinks feel like home made high school party booze but the price is okayish (drinks are always expensive in Beijing). An alternative to the usual chinese places and bars, the decoration is quite interesting, the food is good. At night it is a good place for dancing, small though.

This tells you everything you need to know about Beijing’s nightlife but this bar is great. We went on a Friday night and were the only people there.
