I was a solo female traveler and this was a great experience. Douglas was punctual, very knowledgeable and nice. He went above and beyond to make the experience an unforgettable one. I highly recommend taking this day trip if you only have one day in Nairobi to explore.

I'm really glad I did this activity. It was really fun and engaging, and I learnt how to make ugali and other traditional Kenyan dishes. Nimoh is expert and just so lovely. The market visit was interesting, and she was very patient in answering all our questions about the customs. The matatu ride was really interesting too, though the music and banging of the wall was just too noisy for me. But hey, it's an experience, right? Nimoh welcomed us warmly into her home (and we got to play with her sweet kitten Cookie, bonus point!). Other than the cooking and of course the eating after that, we had a really good conversation about anything from culture to politics. I feel that Nimoh can easily be your best friend in town. Just a little practical tip: if you're going for the lunch class, you don't actually get to eat until around 3pm. So have something before coming. Although Nimoh kindly cut out some fruits for us to munch while cooking too (how thoughtful!).

The views were amazing. We saw so many amazing animals and learned a lot. We had 3 kids with us and the kids had fun too. They even had water for our ride.

Wow, what a phenomenal day! Everything has been spot on. Amazing views on the valley, a great bike ride in Hell’s Gate - completely doable, I am not a great cyclist and it was easy enough - spotting buffalos,
Zebras, giraffes, warthogs, gazelles, monkeys, rock hyraxes - followed by a hike in the gorge which was great, and again easy, and then the boat ride to see the hippoes, so many birds, and a mini safari from the boat looking over Crescent Island - wilderbeasts, giraffes, ostriches, impalas, fish eagles. And then a lovely lunch and return. Patrick, our guide and driver, and Robert, our guide at Hell’s Gate are so great. I can’t recommend them enough. I hope I’ll get the chance to travel with them again soon. I am so grateful I chose this as a day trip out of Nairobi. I have done safaris in Tanzania and Namibia before and this was super exciting even if I am not a safari newbie. Super reasonable price for a great service! Thank you guys!

I wondered whether it would be fun to do this trip on my own but it was so worth it! I got clear communication in advance. James the driver was good company and made me feel totally comfortable. The park was amazing and despite having been on several day safaris I'd never seen so many animals including a group of lions hunting together. It is a long drive either way but well worth it.

Steven our guide was very good. The extra $45 fee per person to get into the National Park should be more prominently mentioned in the tour description as I didn’t bring that much cash with me. That should somehow be put in the tour price. Also, tourist tip, if you don’t use WhatsApp you may miss communication with your guide.

Hell's Gate & Lake Naivasha Boat Ride: A Kenyan Adventure! Thanks David!

My day trip combining Hell's Gate National Park and a Lake Naivasha boat ride was an absolute highlight of my Kenyan adventure. This tour offers a perfect blend of active exploration and tranquil relaxation, showcasing the diverse beauty of the region.

The morning started with a visit to Hell's Gate National Park, a truly unique and awe-inspiring landscape. Cycling through the park was an exhilarating experience, allowing us to get up close and personal with the dramatic rock formations, towering cliffs, and geothermal activity. The scenery is simply breathtaking, and the feeling of cycling amidst such raw natural beauty is unforgettable. We even had the chance to spot some wildlife along the way, including zebras, giraffes, and baboons.

After our adventurous morning, we headed to Lake Naivasha for a relaxing boat ride. This was a welcome change of pace, and the tranquil waters of the lake offered a different perspective on the region's beauty. The lake is teeming with wildlife, and we were treated to fantastic sightings of hippos, giraffes, and a myriad of bird species. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, pointing out different animals and sharing interesting facts about the lake's ecosystem. The opportunity to see these animals in their natural habitat was truly magical.

    Highlights of the tour:

    * Cycling through Hell's Gate: An active and immersive way to experience the park's unique landscape.
    * Incredible wildlife viewing: From zebras and giraffes in Hell's Gate to hippos and birds on Lake Naivasha, the wildlife encounters were unforgettable.
    * Stunning scenery: The dramatic landscapes of Hell's Gate and the serene beauty of Lake Naivasha offered a diverse and breathtaking experience.
    * Knowledgeable guides: Our guide provided valuable insights into the region's flora, fauna, and geology.
    Things to consider:
    * Fitness level: Cycling in Hell's Gate requires a moderate level of fitness. Be prepared for some uphill sections.
    * Sun protection: Essential for both Hell's Gate and the boat ride. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses.
    * Comfortable shoes: Essential for cycling/hiking and walking around the park.
Overall, I highly recommend this tour. It's a fantastic way to experience the diverse beauty and wildlife of Kenya. Whether you're an adventure seeker or a nature lover, this tour has something to offer everyone. It's a perfect combination of adventure and relaxation, creating lasting memories of your Kenyan journey.

Great way to see the real city of Nairobi, they take you to places you would never go to on your own as a tourist, you get to see how real Kenyan people live and the real culture. I can’t tell you how amazing it was, you have 3 guides looking after you the whole time. Typhoon my main guide was so knowledgeable living on the streets since the age of nine. He’s now 23 and walking around the downtown area, just about everyone knows him. Don’t miss this trip what ever you do.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time visiting the people of the Maasai village. They treated us so well and we were so humbled that they shared their culture and way of life with us. Our driver Obed was so great and very knowledgeable.

The game drive exceeded expectations! The guide knew so many spots where we could see zebras, giraffes, black and white rhinos and the king himself, the lion! James was courteous, considerate and knowledgeable. The tour also included a stop at the elephant orphanage and the Giraffe Center. We also stopped for lunch, a place with great good. The whole experience was MAGICAL!

Please consider doing this tour - We spent 5 hours with Lucas and Elijah on Tuesday 4th February . The lads have set up a small school in the slum for 3-8 year olds. A percentage of the tour revenue helps run the school. They are an inspiration for doing this to help the next generation. The markets are fascinating. You are then taken into the residential area which is dire but the people are upbeat, positive and charming. We were taken to Elijah’s family house where he was born, meeting his Mum was a huge privilege.
