A must do market although I liked the local markets more, I visited one during my Cairo food tour with Food tours by Mila. You need to bargain hard and no matter how much it seems like it was still over priced, the oils was 10-20 times more expensive than the prices I found in local markets. It's huge market though and definitely good place to buy souvenirs like magnets I enjoyed walking and learning about Islamic history with our guide.

Despite the distance, my family has voted Festival City as thr best mall in Cairo. Huge, modern and sprawling, the mall has every store you can image. What sets it apart from other malls is the layout. The mall is set on 3 levels with wide corridors and high ceilings, giving a feel of spaciousness. It's also very easy to navigate.

A feature is the dancing fountains, surrounded by a variety of restaurants. Perfect in the evening.

My teens enjoyed the arcade, which was very appreciated given that most malls only focus on younger patrons.

Festival City also has an abundance of furniture stores, including the city's only IKEA (which I avoided lest I bought furniture, thinking I can ship back home!)

Take your time and enjoy the superb craftsmanship. It's worth every penny of the price - and the vendors do NOT inflate their prices. This is an art form which may die out after these artisans retire.

Was recommended to us along with Nomad gallery by our guide from Food tours by Mila when we had this magnificent food tour in local Cairo and asked about where can we find real handmade authentic products, I liked both galleries but the prices of Oum El Dounia gallery was bit more competitive and there was more variety of products, I purchased small beautiful handbage and got one for my daughter as a gift, the staff working there are very decent and nice

This was one of the highlights during my visit to Cairo. When I read about it, I knew I had to go. It all seemed so chaotic. The camels are mainly sold for their meat so keep this in mind if you are a vegetarian. Had a driver with a guide to get there. The drive through the countryside to get there was also worth it. Ladies..take a scarf to wear, dust being kicked up everywhere.

Recommend if you want to buy small gifts to take and or interesting affordable art. Nice to avoid the khan el Khalili atmosphere and casually browse. They also hold art workshops for kids in the community.

Amazing open air mall of many brands and wide selection of restaurants and cafes. Beautiful views of well designed landscaping areas and lakes. 20 minutes from Cairo by car or you may take the Madinety bus every half an hour from Cairo to Madinety and vice versa. There is food hall nicely designed to accommodate many famous food chains, Gold’s Gym and indoor children play park. Take the Tram tour to view the whole area. Highly recommended place for all family members.

Arts and crafts without the hassles of a busy souk and a lovely restaurant for a well priced relaxing lunch. Calm and has plenty of quality goods in proper shops.

Well it’s located at the beginning of the teseen road very close to CFC but whenever possible I prefer going to downtown mall. The parking could be a problem if you are going on a weekend but other than that you have plenty of restaurants, shops and services ….

small but worth the hike - if you are surrounded by bullet bras and pre-packaged blankets you are not there yet. Keep moving - also there's a great local market stretch that's fun to walk through and buy some Egyptian pretzels and enjoy

We were out near the Airport & needed to pick up some items pre flight so our guide recommended The District as the perfect spot. It is certainly an ultraModern twist for Cairo. Upscale construction, amenities, shops of International brands & Restaurant galore. Whatever you need - it probably found at The District - in Modern Cairo! Enjoy!
