Everything was well organized, and our guide Ahmed was absolutely top notch and definitely a plus.
The only reason I don't give 5 star is because the program was changed at the very last minute without telling us anything. I cannot imagine a better way to experience Egypt than through his knowledgeable eyes. He was thorough and comprehensive in his explanations but had an immense amount patience as well. After all he was effectively herding cats(tourists).
He always explained exactly how many stops he'd talk and that we'd have time after his tour for exploring and pictures. You can tell he's extremely well respected amongst his peers, as many of the other guides knew him and would give way to our group when we got to his next stop in the tour. So we always got to see the most exceptional pieces at every ruin. I specifically just loved Hassan's sense of humor. Hed take jabs at clueless tourists and guides that weren't paying attention. And overall just made the whole thing fun and enjoyable. The whole trip was seamless. I knew exactly what was happening at all times and even though we had a tight schedule to see all the things we wanted to see, it didn't feel overwhelming.
Bottom line if you can get a tour with Hassan, you're in for a treat!! Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Panda48 contributionsWe used Planet Tours for our 13 days Egypt tour in Feb 2025, their agents picked us up from the airport and stayed till the end of our journey till we checked out from Cairo.
Their guides in Cairo, Aswan and Luxor were very knowledgeable and stayed with us till end of the day. I specifically liked our guide Hanny who took us to Old Cairo City Tour and Michele who took us to Giza Pyramids and Sphinx.
There are few things I did not like about Planet Tours:
1. They have a very long day starting at 3am to 8pm, you have to wake up at 3am to catch a flight or a bus to get to Aswan and Cairo, once you arrive at your destination by bus or air (usually 6 hrs from start to finish) they do not take you to the hotel for rest, instead they force you to take the assigned sightseeing till end of the day. This is extremely tiring because the day starts at 3am and ends at 7pm when you come back to your hotel and get up again at 3am next day.
2. Daily Schedules are not given to you in detail till the Guide shows up the morning tour. You have no idea where you are heading the next day till you meet the guide in the morning. This is very confusing.
3. In Luxor and Cairo, they should allow more Hotel times rather than keeping you in the bus or the cruise. It would be better to get more time at hotels.
Overall tour was extremely hectic due to tight schedules if they adjust this, I will give them a 5 star rating.
Guides are reliable and friendly no complaints.
Hotels are good with good food, no complaints.
Flights were good, no complaints.
I will give them a 3 star review because of Hectic Tour Schedules and less time in Hotels. Egypt is just amazing,enjoyed the sites the food everything.

He and the guide Tony have arranged and listed all the things and we were well informed on the itinerary scheduled and prices were reasonable.
Pyramids, camel rides, museum , paper and scent museum etc were covered in a span of 7 - 8 hours in our flight transit window and were dropped back to airport before our connecting flight.
All of us enjoyed the short-stay in Egypt and that wouldn't have been possible without Amirs help.

I had already booked flights to Egypt and knew that I would be in-country for about 10 days and was doing my own research on what to do once I got there.
I'm a reasonably seasoned traveler. I've been to several countries around the world, but I was already a little nervous because I knew Egypt would be challenging to navigate on my own. It was the first country I would go to where I did not speak or read the language at all. I knew I didn't want to drive there and organizing my own transportation and itinerary would likely be mentally exhausting. I also was prepared for "the hustle" from the locals and knew that I couldn't tolerate that on my own for 10 days. So, I had already concluded that I likely needed to book some organized tours for at least part of my trip.
After seeing some of his YouTube videos I decided to reach out to Gus for help planning the trip and I have to say this was one of the best decisions I have ever made. For a very reasonable price Gus sat down with me via zoom for a 30-minute planning session. He listened to my interests and reasons for visiting and the outline of an itinerary I had already planned out based on five days in Cairo and four in Luxor. He gave me some recommendations for hotels and advice on travel logistics between Cairo and Luxor.
However, where Gus really shined was connecting me with local in-country partners. First, he recommended Ebram as a guide: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g294201-d23503554-Reviews-Private_Guide_Ebram_Cairo_Giza_Alexandria_Luxor_Aswan_Sinai_The_oasis-Cairo_Cair.html. Ebram is truly one of the best guides I have had anywhere in the world. Gus also had several other in-country partners for a food tour in Cairo and a balloon ride in Luxor. He also recommended most of the local restaurants I ate at and all were delicious.
However, what I didn't realize I was getting was a live travel coordinator throughout my trip. I thought our relationship would effectively end when he gave me the final itinerary. Instead, I got amazing customer support throughout my trip. He was part of the WhatsApp chat when I was trying to find my greeter when I arrived at Cairo airport. He checked in regularly throughout the trip to see how things were going. Perhaps most impressive was the behind-the-scenes effort when things weren't going well. There was a scheduling miscommunication with a third-party food tour that no one caught until we were going over the plan for the next day. Between our discovery at dinner at ~8pm to when I woke up the next morning at ~6am, Gus was working behind the scenes coordinating from the US with my guide and the third-party food tour to reschedule. Gus went above and beyond to fix the error going so far as to cover the cost and working with the vendor to do a custom private tour that fit with the other activities in my itinerary on a different day.
Gus is an excellent bridge between US based travelers and local Egyptian tour operators. I know he has personally tried every activity and restaurant and personally knows the guides he recommends on his itineraries. In all my travels, there are very few companies that I actively recommend to friends and family. From the moment we landed we were met with such great and reassuring energy that gave us a sense of safety. He led us through such amazing tours with his knowledge and understanding of ancient Egyptian history while also giving us a chance to experience modern Egyptian culture with the people we met, the food we ate, and the history we learned. We shared so many laughs and special moments that will never be forgotten.
