Located right off of one of the busiest streets here, Yulgok, the palace entrance can be found on this road, but there is also a back entrance as well, but that’s quite a bit away as this area is huge.

The place was definitely more accessible than most places I’ve been to in other countries where you really couldn’t get super close to most places to see the insides of the buildings as they’re lined off and such, or there’s a net or something to obstruct the view. Here, no such issue, albeit, you still can’t really go inside these places, but still, quite up and personal for the majority of the buildings.

It is a bit confusing as there’s several places to visit in this park, but each place needs a separate ticket to get in. If your plan is to go through all of the places, or go from one end of this very large area to the other, you’ll have to at least enter both the palace area halves, though, these are both the cheaper tickets. The Secret Garden ticket alone costs more than both combined.

All 3 areas have their appeals. I will reference them according to Joseon Kdramas as the measuring stick.

The side where you enter in from Yulgok is the area mostly where you see military training areas, but courtyards, etc. The other side is where all the palaces for where royalty stay are and also those huge gardens where the king will walk through usually. The secret garden has a lot of the secret meeting places, by lakes, in random tea areas to discuss strategies, or something to that effect.

Overall, especially if you like Kdramas of the Joseon era, this is quite the accessible place to get your nerd on. If you just want to sight see an appreciate history, this is also a great place for that.

A must do if you’re in Seoul but you have to walk it!! It only takes 45 minutes (one way) and it’s not too steep. As you get higher and higher, you’ll be stunned with amazing views of the city and beautiful autumn trees. Head for the cable car entrance and turn right, there’s a big brick wall called the Seoul city limit which you can follow all the way up to the top of the mountain and to the tower. A really nice way to spend a couple of hours as the afternoon turns into the evening

Seoul Botanical Garden is a beautiful space where you can enjoy nature in the heart of the city. Located in Magok-dong, Gangseo-gu, it is easily accessible and offers a variety of plants and themed gardens, making it a perfect place to visit with family, friends, or a partner.
As soon as you enter, you are greeted by a vast area filled with a harmonious arrangement of various plants, offering a visually stunning experience. The greenhouse section is particularly impressive, filled with tropical plants and vibrant flowers, making you feel as if you’ve stepped into another country. The greenhouse also provides information about the different plants, adding educational value to your visit.
Additionally, the botanical garden features various themed gardens, each with its own charm. The aquatic plant garden, herb garden, and seasonal garden showcase different beauties throughout the year. In spring, the blooming flowers create a picturesque setting, perfect for photography.
The walking paths are well maintained, allowing for a comfortable stroll while enjoying the natural surroundings. There are benches placed throughout the garden, providing spots to relax. If you visit with children, there are educational experiences related to nature, making it a meaningful outing.
Seoul Botanical Garden offers more than just a typical botanical experience. It provides an opportunity to connect with nature, relieve stress, and create cherished memories. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a moment of tranquility, I highly recommend visiting this wonderful garden.

This is one of few places to walk and relax in the neighborhood. During weekdays, most visitors are local residents. This is a good place to spend time and quite big.
    - There are several entrances. One popular route is to pass the overpass next to Hotel Hyatt in Itaewon. Local bus #3 reaches here.
    - Lots of flowers. It's really nice beautiful during cherry blossoms or fall foliage.
    - There are well-maintained pine forest, bamboo forest, pavilions, ponds, stream, benches, little outdoor gyms, observation deck, kids' park, flower garden, etc.
    - It's possible to climb up the mountain through this garden.

This is a nice park for neighbors. Not recommended to visit for tourists because the location is quite suburb of the city.
    - The location is right next to Dobongsan Station. It's good to start Dobongsan hiking or Seoul Dule-gil from here.
    - There are various flowers and ponds. Good to take a lazy time walking. The surrounding view by mountains is amazing. The café upstairs of the visitor center is the best place to chill looking down the garden.
    - The visitor center is the official info desk of Seoul Dule-gil(trail).
    - There aren't many benches to rest in the garden. Mostly occupied by others. So, it's better to bring a matt if you visit for a picnic.
    - As well as the flower garden, there are some military installations for exhibition, observatory, water showers for kids, sports courts, etc.

Jonggak Station Solar Garden is a tiny botanical garden before the underground entrance of Jongno Tower.
Having rarely seen plants in Seoul, this is good to take a look or a break.
There are some small shops selling unique goods, too.

This is a garden on the rooftop of Seoul Station. It has some interesting decoration. Good to take a look for minutes.
    - Waking down through Seoullo 7017, you can meet a path to this garden. Therefore, you no longer need to go down and go up to reach Seoul Station. The area is mainly on Lotte Mart building.
    - It's not that big. You can take a quick look while reaching the station.
