Guards literally patrolling the dance floor, waiting to yell at you if you put your coat down (instead of paying $50,000 to put each item in). Leeches waiting at the bar to charge you service for ordering with the bar man in front of you. Esperanza and German warmly invited us into their beautiful home where we were taught how to make empanadas, patacones, and lulo juice and learned about Colombian culture, heritage, and art. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Bogota and Colombia in general. If you're not familiar with yellow dragon fruit, passion fruit, jack fruit and other exotic fruit, buy one and eat it on the spot while communicating with the owner of the fruit stand. Bring your camera and ask permission to shoot. Also, the place is loaded with colorful, fresh veggies and raw chicken, pork, and fish. Miguel was a really great guide, who explained a lot to us and also had an answer to every question.
Going by bike was awesome as we could discover more of the city in short time.
