Apart from an adventure, you will see the cave where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered by a Bedouin shepherd boy. Samuel, our tour guide, took the three of us on a one-of-a-kind Jeep trip through the Judean desert, stopping for amazing pictures and explaining to us the historical background and regional significance of the various sights. Samuel was professional in every way, friendly and very knowledgeable. I couldn't have asked for a better tour guide. This was one of several trips I had already taken with Ben Harim Tours and it certainly was another outstanding experience. - patsy mMelbourne, Australia48 contributionsExcellent Tour. Our guide and bus driver were great. Abrahams gave us full details of what to expect at the Allenby Boarder. Our guide was informative and answered many of our questions about Jordan in general. It was a young group (excluding ourselves) and we loved it. We had a full day in Petra from 8:00-18:30 with an option to do Petra by night, which some of the group did. I would highly recommend this tour. It worked well to travel into Jordan with Yom Kippur happening in Israel. - Tom O17 contributionsWe had a great time with Dan Porges as our tour guide and Ali driving us around the Dead Sea! Ali made a great narrator while making sure we all felt safe traversing the desert. The highlight of the trip was a lovely picnic with Ali out the back of the 4WD, overlooking the stunning gorge and monastery. - Paul KNew York12 contributionsKobi at GoKedem is a total rock star! We wanted something more that your typical bus tour to Masada and he really delivered. He really knows the landscape and history, and tells amazing stories that captured the imagination of my son Leo, 15.
He led us on a 2 hour hike to the El Al spring that was pure magic. And at Ein Gedi oasis, he know the route to the last waterfall, with herds of ibex grazing near-by. My son - normally an eye-rolling teenager -- was really moved.
Afterwards, we went for lunch at a local beduin restaurant that was delicious and a cool experience in itself, as the hostess was very funny, knew him so stopped by to talk.
The whole trip was a unique, memorable experience. I was very surprised by the wonderful experience we all had with Aviv. I learned interesting history and facts. I saw things I never saw before. It felt all new, exciting, fun and the best way to spend a day! I recommend this tour and guide highly. Simon's knowledge of Israel, it's people and it's history knows no bounds.....and a bonus for me was his expertise on all things military. - Jet7448011 contribution"I had been planning an adventure to Jordan and Israel. So not knowing where to begin in hunting for a reasonable, honest, flexible, thorough guide, I started on the internet. I saw Charlie the Traveler’s website and after doing some research, I may not have personally known anyone who has used Charlie the Traveler, but the reviews were exactly what I was looking for. I was able to tweak their standard itinerary, staying longer at some places, adding treks, and booking my own lodging. Upon arriving to the airport in Jordan, I was greeted by a local representative of Charlie the Traveler, ‘Sami’. I cannot praise Sami enough and Charlie for finding a guide who legitimately cared about the traveler’s experience. Sami made sure I was familiar with my itinerary Charlie’s company had prepared for me, even after all my adjustments. I never felt uncomfortable, afraid for my safety or like I was being ‘played’. Pick up and drop off times were always precise and reliable. I appreciate the care and reliability of Charlie the Traveler and his representatives. My time in Jordan was one of the greatest experiences of my life and I have Sami and his networking skills to thank for that. I will definitely use Charlie the Traveler for future adventures. - עאמר פ1 contributionWe were group of 6 , loved the mixture of the sightseeing and the off-road . Some of the sights are really monumental like Jerusalem and Masada while on the other side of the spectrum is the Holman highs wild Wild West :-)
Loved the local street good and mostly the gokedem guide for the oversight and linking history and present of this magical land.
