    PROS
    * The #1 tourist spot in Israel is a holy and spiritual place- the site of Jewish religious prayer and devotion
    * This actual intact structure is 2000+ years old and existed when Jesus Christ was there
    * There is history of almost 4000 years with still intact archaeology from 2000+ years ago
    * The world's largest and only open air synagogue with Jewish prayer rituals including the ancient Bar Mitzvah ritual, the reading of the Scroll of the Law (Torah) and the ritual donning of fringed tasseled prayer shawl and the black prayer boxes
    * See national, religious and army ceremonies
    * Open 24/7 and it is quieter at night

    CONS
    * It is always crowded except at night
    * The multiple prayer rituals are confusing and the cacophony of prayer services, chants, dancing, seating and screaming is unique but annoying
    * Beggars ask for charity money, but it is benign and not dangerous nor threatening
    * A mixture of intense spirituality and a holiday festive vacation atmosphere in the plaza
    * Airplane type security inspection for to admission to the broad Western Wall Plaza.

    "I VISITED THIS PLACE"...
... twice recently- first to participate, observe and photograph the predawn ritual recitation of the "sorries," which is done every morning for a month prior to the Horrible days. It was super-crowded and literally shoulder-to-shoulder in the prayer area, and I did not enjoy that. The prayer leader had deafening microphone amplification system but his Middle Eastern accent was totally not understandable to me, and the text was also undecipherable.

Then we returned for the annual predawn Grand Hosanna festival of palm branch shaking and smashing the five willow branches on the ground. It was a bit less crowded than previous years (although still shoulder-to-shoulder) and we could breathe a bit lighter and I actually managed to complete three of the seven "salvation" circlings of the Scroll of the Law stand.

    WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
    It is free.

    WOULD I VISIT HERE AGAIN?
    I always do

    ADVICE
    * This is the number one tourist attraction of Israel
    * It is important to dress appropriately and modestly- no shorts nor sleeveless
and some kind of head covering for males
    * Observe but do not disturb those engaged in their fervent prayer devotions
    * One can leave a note between the massive stones

A visit to Jerusalem is like no other in that it is a truly religious city for many different people. The city itself is undergoing enormous regeneration and the buildings are very well designed. The bus service is like no other and can take you all over the country at very cheap prices. The light rail runs through the centre of town and the new Main line station, Navon has to be experienced. The trains are new, modern and very clean and access is down five escalators. The journey to Tel Aviv is partly underground which is a pity as it is not possible to see all the land which is wonderful.

The Garden Tomb is believed to be the site of the burial of Jesus. The location is related to Jerusalem. The site of the Garden Tomb is supported by evangelical Christians, and Mormons. Orthodox Christians support the Holy Sepulcher as the site of Christ's. resurrection. The Garden Tomb is interesting.

    Amazing feeling being there.

We were there on a Sunday: mass started 6am and ended 7am.
The tomb opened right after the mass at 7am. People following the mass were the first to enter.

Absolutely no lines at this time. Me and my wife could enter there twice with a 2min. maximum line.

So the recommendation is to arrive early in the morning. Tomb opening time on Sunday: 7am. Mess start on Sunday: 6am.

First and foremost, these tours (both Bridge and Rock tours) are well worth a visit. I have been to Israel many times however this was the first that I purchased tickets to experience the lower section. It was quite a cool experience. I opted for the English tours and my guide Sharon was outstanding. I look forward to returning in the future once additional areas are opened up.

    Suggestions:
    *Wear comfortable shoes
*If you have issues with narrow passageways, this tour may not be for you as it traverses long narrow walkways for a majority of the tour,
*You walk for 70% of the time so be prepared.
*The tours are stacked and in between they flow in bar mitzvah groups which tend to get loud and disruptive to the paid group tours.
*Be sure to check in at least 15-20 minutes before your tour (they suggest 30).
*Each tour lasts 60-70 minutes each.
*Be ready to learn quite a bit about the First and Second Temples which I found to be very informative and interesting for as much as I have learned during my school days.

Church of All Nations, known and as Basilica of the Agony is situated on the Mount of Olives, near Gethsemane Garden in East Jerusalem.
In this church is located the rock on which Jesus Christ prayed in his last days of life.
It's a large and monumental church.
It's very important landmark of Jerusalem, visited by the faithful pilgrims who arrived here.

The Al Aqua Mosque is fascinating, it's the third most sacred it in Islam. It can hold 5,000 worshippers for Friday prayers. The Al Aqsa Mosque is on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. If you want to visit, it's best to make arrangements in advance.

The Temple Mount adjoins the Old City of Jerusalem. It is sacred to Muslims, Jews and Christians. The Temple Mount is a plateau. The Al Aksa Mosque is the third holiest site in Islam. The Dome of the Rock is quite fascinating, it is said that Mohamad rode his magic horse Barak to heaven, where he conversed with the Prophets. You can see Barak's hoof print. Orthodox Jews often pray on the Temple Mount, which is the site of the ancient Temple. By the way, if you want to enter the Temple Mount, it's best to make arrangements in advance.

The Dome of the Rock is a mosque situated on the Temple Mount. The Dome of the Rock is a remarkable shrine. Although it has many features, the most prominent being the Rock where Muslims believe that Abraham was told to sacrifice his son, Ishmael here. If you want to enter the Dome of the Rock, please make arrangements in advance.

Our guide brought us to this interesting site in Jerusalem. We walked through a steep car park towards a church. It has a Byzantine dome clustered with marble columns and large arch-shaped windows. It was built near the House of High Priest Caiaphas who judged Jesus.

The Church of St Peter Gallicantu commemorates the triple denial of Peter to Jesus, his repentance, and their reconciliation. It was built over a ruin in 457 CE. The French Assumptionists rebuild it in 1931CE. Inside are displays of the Cockcrow, the Woman, and the Roman soldier. It was inscribed "Woman, I know him not"!  The Byzantine interior has mosaics inlaid and renaissance paintings, Gallincantu,  in Latin, means the Rooster Crows.

Underneath the church is a dungeon jailroom and a visible manhole at above. It was used to rope down Jesus  into the dungeon cell, before the cruxification.

The Church itself isn't what I am reviewing. It was crowded and filled with people trying to climb over each other to reach something in the basement. Instead, I am reviewing the grounds that lead to Bethesda behind it, which are beautifully landscaped and extremely peaceful. I sat here for some time after a lot of walking and it was serene and shaded with ancient excavations. Very enjoyable.

    PROS
    * Beautiful elegant stylish synagogue
    * Amazing artistic creations on the walls
    * Very high dome with chandeliers
    * Historic because it was destroyed by the Jordanians in 1948 and then rebuilt in 2010
    * Fantastic central location in the restored Jewish Quarter

    CONS
    * Is it a museum or is it a functioning neighborhood synagogue?
    * There is a small women's section in an upstairs balcony

    "I VISTED THIS PLACE"...
... because we wanted to say the evening prayer after "visiting" the western Wall

    WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
To enter to pray does not cost anything but i understand that there is a charge for tourist visits

WOULD "I VISIT THIS PLACE" AGAIN?
Maybe yes in order to do one of the prayers

    ADVICE
    * Be sure to at least admire the place from outside
    * Try to go inside too

The Abbey of the Dormition is a Benedictine church that commemorates the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Mary was assumed body and soul into Heaven after her death. "Assumption" is similar to "Dormition." The Abbey of the Dormition is impressive, it is near Mount Zion, the West Gate of the Old City.
