- demet D1 contributionOur family had an unforgettable experience at this wonderful glass art studio near Galata Tower! The workshop was fantastic—guided by a true master who was both talented and patient, making the process fun and engaging for all of us. It was amazing to see how glass transforms into beautiful art right before our eyes.
The studio also has a stunning collection of handcrafted glass artworks for sale, perfect as unique souvenirs or gifts. Whether you're visiting with family or friends, this is a must-do experience in Istanbul. Highly recommended!Written 17 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jim HearsonLondon, UK193 contributionsTourists are getting massively overcharged to go into attractions in Istanbul at present, so getting an Istanbul Tourist Pass is a great way to make it more affordable.
You need to be happy to plan your visit though, as many of the main places require you to go in with guides, who only operate at certain times. You can stay after the tour, but you won't have an audio guide that you would have had if you'd bought the entry ticket separately.
The support on WhatsApp is excellent though - accurate and immediate, so it really helps to relieve some of the confusion that can occur when you're trying to find places in an unfamiliar city.Written 14 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It happened I was in Istanbul with mom when I found out about the Ebru workshops and decided it’s art time! If you are wondering, yes, mom also attended the workshop. It was a very cool experience.
I booked a private session for two at the CIP Cultural Interactions Point – Istanbul, Turkey. Serif was very helpful and extremely responsive to my emails. The CIP was within a 5 min walk from Taksim Square. Serif and Fatma were waiting for us. We were overwhelmed by the warm welcome we received when we arrived. We were seated on a large table where the Ebru equipment and materials were carefully placed. That tray full of liquid is definitely eye catching.
Fatma demonstrated the technique while Serif gave us a historical overview and commented on every step Fatma was doing.
It was really fun learning about the Turkish art of marbling, Ebru. Serif and Fatma made it even more enjoyable. It was the first time I ever use this technique, mom as well and we both completed our very own first Ebru, yey.
So if you are in Istanbul or planning a trip to Istanbul? Add this 2 hours activity to your schedule. This workshop is a must, especially if you love art and colors! The whole experience is unique. Get your hands dirty and bring out the artist in you.
The workshop offers classes for adult and children older than 5 years old. Regular workshops are held Fridays between 1:00 and 3:00 pm. You can always request a private course. It is priced for $45.00 USD per person and it includes using the equipment and materials, tea, coffee and cookies and two sheets with your artwork to take home. During the workshop, you will get acquainted with the art of Ebru in a very short period of time, and design your own Ebru artwork. You will take home the artwork done during the workshop. Since the artwork needs to dry you will have to pass the next day to get your final artwork. Isn’t it a great souvenir to take home?
There are other workshops you can also try, check out the website of CIP for more info.

- AlexDublin, Ireland1 contributionI have joined Carmen's Flamenco technique classes and a few workshops, of sevillanas as well. Carmen is great. I love her talent and passion. She embodies everything I think Flamenco to be. I highly recommend her classes accompanied by Osman with the guitar. She is very lively, friendly and insipiring. Her dancing is mindblowing. Enjoy your classes. OLÉWritten 6 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Odyssey669217924862 contributionsThis was one of the most unique cultural experience I had in İstanbul. Learning the intricate art of traditional Turkish lamp-making was both fascinating and fun! The setting within the lamp shop made it even more authentic, as you could feel the rich tradition of craftsmanship that has been passed down for generations. It’s a must-do for anyone wanting to dive deeper into the artistic heart of Istanbul! PS. You can make great friends around the table whilst sipping some tea!Written 26 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dulce Pronk4 contributionsMe and my sister had the most wonderful morning at Istanbul Workshops where we made our very own mosaic lamps! An amazing experience to be creative, learn more about the culture and make your very own souvenir. During you are provided with real Turkish tea and coffee! We want to thank Esma and Mustafa for being so kind during this fun experience! Our lamps turned out amazing even though it was our first time doing mosaic. Definitely a unique and recommended experience!

I spent a day immersed in the city's vibrant culture, starting with a meze cooking class where I learned to prepare traditional Turkish appetizers with a local person. The variety of flavors and the stories behind each dish made it a culinary journey like no other. Next, I dove into a marbling workshop, where I created beautiful designs on water—a mesmerizing art form that was both meditative and inspiring. The day ended with a wine and abstract painting session in a local home, where we sipped Turkish wines while unleashing our creativity on canvas. This combination of food, art, and culture made it the most unique experience I’ve had in Istanbul. Most importantly, the hosts and those hosting LokalBond experiences are some of the kindest and most hospitable people you’ll meet. When they open their doors, it’s not as just a tourist guide - they welcome you as part of their family. Incredibly accommodating, warm, soulful and beautiful people. They embrace those from all cultures while introducing you to theirs. By far the best experience I’ve had during my travels - they are open minded, will elaborate on any questions you have about life in Istanbul, and more so they’ll give you some quick and useful language lessons. They taught me to count while teaching me to roll stuffed grape leaves with their sweetest Grandma you’ll meet. Forever the people hosting Lokal Bond experiences will have a place in my heart, and a friend!!! Thank you my friends!Written 25 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
