- Ben W1 contributionThis was a really fun few hours with a variety of different water activities which I would not hesitate to book again.
The experience included rafting, a zip line into the river and sliding down and jumping off rocks into the water. The guys running it kindly took photographs and videos of us during the experience which we really appreciated. The experience was also exclusive for me and my partner rather than a group experience.
The end to end experience lasted for around 3 hours. Communication was excellent, despite him being on tour himself, he answered promptly to our questions and helped us competently to organize our tour. We had a lot of specific ideas from blogs which Jason helped us sort into our personalized special vacation. His recommendations and the organization were very good. The only thing we would have left out was the village tour. We had a better food experience at our accommodation „Jungle Shades“ with Dilani.
The vehicle (a Toyota) was clean and in good condition with air conditioning and working seat belts.
The highlight was our driver Himal Fernando who became a friend during our 23 day long trip. He is very warm hearted, drove very safely and cautiously, navigating the often chaotic traffic and often double checking the directions with the locals to find the best roads. He was very accommodating to adapt the daily plan to our ideas and he is very knowledgeably about Sri Lanka: the sights, the nature and the culture. He found local, authentic restaurants (we tried to stay away from the tourist places) and was great in communicating with the locals, helping us wherever he could. It has a very rich culture and heritage. It is also a land of breathtaking natural beauty. My tour guide, Mr. Anuradha Hewage, drove me around this beautiful country. He is extremely knowledgeable and provides an extraordinary level of customer service. He is a warm, friendly, and resourceful person who shared his deep insights into Sri Lanka heritage and culture. His willingness to “to go the extra mile” to serve his clients is indeed very commendable. I strongly recommend his services to anyone who wishes to visit Sri Lanka. Communication was smooth and direct, with no hidden rates. Everything was professional from start to finish. Highly recommended! We especially enjoyed the cricket and Colombo city tour.

He is a very good and reliable driver, we felt very safe even though the traffic is so hectic and chaotic on the island. Jay was always punctual so we were ready to go as soon as we were ready. He is easy going, very nice company and flexible to change plans if we (I) wanted to see something extra. He is well organized, excellent quide who knows the attractions, plants, animals, birds, good restaurants where to eat. It was an easy holiday for us as we didn't have to do so much research. He knows what is worth seeing.
If we ever come back to Sri Lanka, we would like to book his tour. I crossed the island from West to East, and back. SLCH team designed such an interesting tour for us! Thanks to them I've been to Buddhist temples, I climbed on Sigiriya rock, I went to jeep safari to see the elephants, I saw how spices grow in a spices garden, I made a boat tour and went to a traditional dance performance in Kandy including fire walking. Not to mention that I was travelling with my two kids. SLCH made the tour so comfortable for us - we had a very careful and thoughtful guide. We stayed at wonderful hotels, all of them had big swimming pools which was highly appreciated by kids. And we had a good combination of lazy beach rest with active sightseeing. We felt cared for, our excursions all went off without any hitches, his pride for his country, culture, food and people are infectious. We would highly recommend Imran for any travel across the entire island. He kept us safe and showed us a lot of very interesting things in his country. His love for the place, his patience for my photography and his knowledge of the history and about his people gave us the extra spice what made Sri Lanka one of the must go destination. - Aayush R1 contributionI booked Heshitha on 14th June for a nightlife experience in Colombo. I did not know him before that but I don't think I've bonded with anyone so quickly. He showed me all the best spots in Colombo and we had the greatest time, we were out partying till morning. He doesn't just look after you as a host but is a really awesome guy and a genuine friend. Safe to say, I have a brother for life in Colombo when I go back. Whether you're traveling solo or with friends, he is a fantastic local to hang out with in Colombo. - Tom AChester, UK2 contributionsAbsolutely one of the best trips we have ever had. From the moment we landed (at midnight in Colombo) to the last morning. Gihan our guide and Manoj our driver (and guide also!) were beyond fantastic. Gihan and his team were always there on hand if we needed any recommendations of where to eat or what to see and their attention to detail and ensuring that we were looked after and happy was 100 percent.
We were travelling with our 3 teenage kids and the holiday was brilliant for them and us. The right mix of adventure and the magical with great hotels. I particularly loved the fact that Gihan walked with us and guided us up the massive Lions Rock and kept the cheeky monkeys away from my daughter (who wasn't a fan of them trying to steal her coca cola!). We really enjoyed Manoj and Gihan's smile and support every day.
Gihan and his team definitely know the ins and outs of the country and really do find the hidden gem boutique hotels (the first hotel - our room was the size of a house!). And they can tailor to your needs and are flexible - so any budget of hotel they were able to sort for us.
A great and safe way to embrace an amazing country. One day we are in Kandy at the temple of the Buddha's tooth (a truly magical experience in the evening time), the next we are up in the tea plantations at nearly 7000 feet and the following day we are watching a leopard on a safari up close.
You can do as much or as little as you like - but we really loved the flexibiity of the air conditioned van as a base to drive us to all these exotic places you would never reach on your own (or very easily!) and a new fantastic hotel every few days. Loved the stunning views from our Tea plantation hotel and the infinity pool on the roof of the hotel in Mirrissa looking out to the beach opposite.
I loved the fact that Manoj ensured we all got on the tourist train from Nuriya Ella to Ella without missing it and protected us from the melee. I've done many back-packing travels in my day - but much preferred combining adventure with comfort and that element of safety for the kids.
Gihan got us a local SIM card when we arrived and we used watts app for all our comms - which made things really easy both before travel and during. It's easy to get money out at ATMS in Sri Lanka and really stunning place to visit. I would highly recommend Ceylon awaits for that special bespoke tour to your family.

Travel Design helped us plan our itinerary including accommodation and sightseeing and it all worked seamlessly.
We travelled around with our own (fabulous) driver he was amazing with our kids and really helped to make our holiday enjoyable for all.
